You will receive absolutely free, a Blubox Elite Force WWII RAF pilot and a Jet Central Sequencer/gear fail safe unit. Again. . .only the first 4 customer who place a paid order. RE: DerJet DH Vampire build thread-
i have pbox cockpit and the ch out for gear is used to drive UP valves
but i had no problem to program the sequencer |
RE: DerJet DH Vampire build thread-
There is an issue with some PB Cockpit sequencers. Return it for an update!
regards Dave |
RE: DerJet DH Vampire build thread-
@dave
how do to update pbox? what type of issue? |
RE: DerJet DH Vampire build thread-
It must go back to PB.
It is just a software bug in some systems that causes inconsistancy with the gear door sequencing. The operation of the PB is not affected, just the gear sequencer, we had one with a customer who could not program is gear and working through the set up with him showed an inconsistancy in it's operation. Not all Cockpit units are affected though, but if your gear door system does not work and the unit was bought first part of this year it could have it. Dave |

RE: DerJet DH Vampire build thread-
Hello.
I have received my Vampire today. I will post pics tomorrow but I have some questions about the plane? Does it exist any manual to know the throw and the CG location? Do you have a list of the size of servo which are used for this plane? Thanks a lot for your answers. Best regards. Fifou |
RE: DerJet DH Vampire build thread-
hello ..i have building manual from derjet in word or pdf ..
|
RE: DerJet DH Vampire build thread-
I'll pull a copy of the manual, but I can tell you use the CG and control throws from the manual, we used them for the test flight on Eric's red Vampire and it flew just like my Vampire, its a conservative setup in low rates, real nice for smooth flying. My experience on my test flight with way too much elevator throw, well let's just the word exciting comes to mind for during the 1st 10 seconds of flight. CG is just a few mm's aft the front spar former, a top WJM competitor said it was a bit nose heavy when he flew my Vampire, but he came in with a pretty heavy fuel load, if you move it farther aft you'll need some some down elevator trim with flaps, especially when landing with a light fuel load. The DerJet Vampire carrys a lot of fuel if your running a smaller turbine, in my case a JC Rabbit.
The more I fly my Vampire the more I like it, and mine only has about 150 flights in the logbook. Jim |

I generally change mine to UP or Robart to guarantee no leaks I also let some weight into the very tip of the nose before installing the nose gear. You will need weight, so start with as much as you can get in that pocket Dw |

I will post some pics as soon I start the building. I have make my servo Setup:645Mg for aileron, and flaps, 85mg for rudder and 5955TG for elvator. JETCAT P100RX Futaba 6014 for receiver and one MSA10 for flaps, Jetcentral sequencer and jettronic valve for retract. POWERBOX sensor for the general switch, 2 LIPO Thunder POWER RX3300mAh for the receiver and ont Thunder Power 25C 3300mAh for the Jetcat. I will keep you informed. Best regards. Fifou |

RE: DerJet DH Vampire build thread-
Hello I have finished my vampire but I have a little problem with my RX LiPo.
Indeed I have an amazing consumption when I have made the ervo set up. I have 2 LiPo 2700mAh with a powerbox sensor, a 6014HS as receiver and a futaba MSA10 for the flaps. I havent any box on the plane. Do you have the value on the consumption in your plane? Best regards. Philippe |
RE: DerJet DH Vampire build thread-
I missed your original post for equipment and when I just read it I said in my head...Sensor switch is too little with so many servos and big flaps..Airbrakes
I use a PB Evolution, with all JR servos (less current than Hitec) I have not read max current load, but my Vampire is 3 x the battery useage of my Ultra Flash which uses a Sensor switch. 110mAh per pack/flight on the UF and 330mAh per pack/flight Vampire. I would say minimum Gemini switch. and maybe use an Evojet Powerjack 6014 Dave |
RE: DerJet DH Vampire build thread-
Hello Dave.
Thanks for your answer. Do you think I will have problem if I fly with the sensor? Thanks a lot. bets regards. Fifou |
RE: DerJet DH Vampire build thread-
Can you access back of the switch? Where is the switch? Near turbine??
Temperature on the heat sink is the issue, in cool air it will cope with more. If you switch model on and "work" controls constantly for 1 minute. Stop and check heat sink temp with your finger. How hot?? If you cannot hold your finger on it, its over loaded Dave |
RE: DerJet DH Vampire build thread-
I have make the same installation as the post n°265. Yes the heat sink is hot. In static test after several minute I can't put my finger on it... Dou you think I must change my alimentation set up?
Thanks a lot for your advice. Best regards. Philippe |
