As you can see in the pics, keep your equipment as far forward as possible. All the batteries are fastened to the removable wood tray….UAT is forward of the suggested location in the manual.

The bag of sand was just to keep the jet from tipping off the stand while I was working on it....lol

Thks for the fuselage pictures, helped a lot

It seems as the fuel pump is about 2 meters from the turbine. Isn't it a problem?

I have built 8 of these so far using the K210 and the Swiwin 220. No issues!

Even the appx 2M engine cable had no issues with current.

That's good to know. I'm building an Ace Composite J-10, and wasn't sure where to place the UAT and fuel pump. I'm going to install a Merlin 210.

Thanks!

The power cable should be extended , because distance between the K210 to front about 2 meters. So how you solved this matter. System does not let me upload picture otherwise I could add the picture about the short cable matter:):):)

on the J10's with K210 G2's - the ECU was close to the fuel tank (middle of the fuselage). On the J10's with Swiwin 220's - a 105" cable was made using 16AWG wire and MR30's and the ECU was on the equipment tray.

thks for the reply, will setup the ECU as you mentioned midd fuselage just infront of the fuel tank.

butta 12-16-2021 03:25 AM

but in this case I think I should add more weight infront of the fuselage to the battery tray, will be 2 ea 3.300 mah lipo , 1 ea 3.800 mah lifepo4 ecu battery, 1 ea 3.000 mah landing gear battery

Well it works fine for me….I haven’t had any issues with air bubbles so not sure what more to tell you

butta 12-30-2021 12:03 AM

I am using kingtech k210 g2 and if any mini air bubble occurs then 210 N can suck easily from that open end brass tube.:(:(:(

I have over 20 of these UAT's from Pilotrc - all 250ml - but I do make a small mod. I replace the brass tube with a 4MMID felt clunk from Tillotson:

https://www.lawnmowerpartstore.com/f...-ow802-ow-802/

I bought these a few years back for my prop planes and jets (it is the same one that comes stock with the CARF mephisto). I drill the hole to 4MM (some of the older clunks were 2.5MM but the housing has room for 4MM ID).

I had 2 flameout when using it on my TOPRC Voyager on a very high aerobatics flight - with the K260. Autorestart fixed the flameout - landed and saw that I had maybe 40ML or so of air in UAT - (which is not much.)
On the next flight - I added the felt clunk and ever since no issues. (still have as high as 60-70ml of air - but no flameouts)

Is there an easy way to check the CG. How you check the CG 320mm from the front leading edge on the root of wing but how you check? Fuselage is not hard enough to check from underneath ........

I followed PilotRC's guidance and they asked me to ensure that the nose wheel weight was 1.1-1.2kg. After trial and error - I am now at 700g.

Hi to all,
I will have the maiden soon, checked the cg is 310mm.should be OK but one question before the first flight; do you use VT on take off and during the flight and landing ? or Take off without the VT by normal throws just elevator and canards?

flyloose 05-02-2022 09:27 AM

I generally take off and land with TV OFF….just my personal preference…my suggestion would be to take off with the TV off for the maiden and then you can go from there….I know others like to leave the TV on for the entire flight…I tend to alternate between the modes as I have a 3 position stick end switch on my transmitter….so it makes switching very easy for me….also just a friendly reminder to leave the gyro off till you’ve at least got the jet trimmed out….personally I rarely try gyro during a maiden but that’s just me
