RE: WREN 44-Airframes???
SJN,
Have you flown your Rafale yet ? Yann |
RE: WREN 44-Airframes???
Strange you ask that Yann, I contacted a UK model shop with interest on the Aernaut Rafale with Kevlar. I have seen photo's of the start of a conversion with a jetcat P60...but nothing seems to be available showing the finished product, or pics/vid of it flying. At £300 it's not a bad price either.

RE: WREN 44-Airframes???
James,
I'm very interested in the kevlar Rafale as well. I agree with SJN, the regular fiber cloth one is too weak for a turbine... I've seen this conversion too. Let me know if you can find that plane... |
RE: WREN 44-Airframes???
no, i have not flown the rafale..... Im a little stuck on the project. Its easier to finish others at the moment ;)
I also sent Aeronaut an e-mail about a turbine conversion, and got a pretty "critical" e-mail back, as if I was crazy or something. :) They do NOT reccomend turbine use. |
RE: WREN 44-Airframes???
SJN, even with the kevlar version ?

I have just obtained this nice F18 in Blue Angels colour scheme. It's the Schreiner version and 1700mm long with a1200mm wingspan and weighs 4.5 kilos dry flies very nicely with the Wren 44. This is the actual model which was in the RCJI review article now also fitted with flaps. Hope to fly it soon:) John |
RE: WREN 44-Airframes???
Yann, I dont know. I asked if I could get a single fan conversion kit, and they would not sell that either..... They seem a little stiff to deal with ;)
It looks neat John. Im sure it flys great. I wonder how it would fly with a 5,5kg engine. |
RE: WREN 44-Airframes???
What about you guys, gregg f, mank, did you fly the kevlar rafale with a mw44 yet ?

RE: WREN 44-Airframes???
Where is the best place to get a Wren 44 in the USA?

RE: WREN 44-Airframes???
For those who like the A-7 Corsair II, jethangar (link just above) will be releasing a scale arf version of this bird soon.
The plane is designed around the mw44... |
RE: WREN 44-Airframes???
A very interesting addition to the small list of airframes for the Wren 44. Look forward to seeing this one fly!
John |
RE: WREN 44-Airframes???
The "small list" has been growing fast since last year...
|
RE: WREN 44-Airframes???
That is a nice looking plane, shame they don't put any pricing up tho'.....I'm not rich enough to sign up to a list that has no indication of the price involved!
Like the scale gear also, a nice touch. Lets hope someone puts some video up of it flying. |
RE: WREN 44-Airframes???
I was thinking maybe those oleos would fit the SavexF16...
|
RE: WREN 44-Airframes???
Regarding availability and pricing for the A-7, we are looking at April to May timeframe for release and an introductory price of $795 which includes the scale oleo struts. The initial paint scheme will be Edwards AFB white and red (externally painted) with the aircraft also available in primer. It is designed around the MW-44 and MW-54 turbine engines. Though designed for turbine, we do plan on having a limited number of ARF kits available for ducted fan installation as well. This ARF is an iteration of our proven A-7 design and encompasses the scale features of the original built up kit. This includes the 100% scale outline and airfoils, pre-hinged gear doors, and pre-hinged and installed flight surfaces including flaps. Chris |

RE: WREN 44-Airframes???
Hello Andrewjet,
This plane looks like the jetarrow mirage 2000 (http://www.jetarrows.com/mirage/page.phtml?lg=en). They also have a nice vampire for the same turbine... Yann |
