RE: Skymaster F-4E phantom
Michel,
That is very cool !!!!! The mountains in the background look amazing ! What's the temperature there now during the day ? I sure hope we start operating the 777 down to SCL . I really enjoy it down there ! Marc |
RE: Skymaster F-4E phantom
It just snowed two days before. First time snow on the city in about 50 years...[X(] So the view was awesome...:D
Hope to see you back here soon Mark, bring your jet next time...;) Michel |
RE: Skymaster F-4E phantom
Beautyfull pictures mate, was a real good day flying those kero burners he he he, weather was perfect indeed, that phantom looks almost real with the lights right ? take care...

RE: Skymaster F-4E phantom
so do you think a p-120 can do the job on the f4 or is better to go with the p160??
....[8D] |
RE: Skymaster F-4E phantom
P160 for sure, I think the P120 will fly the F-4 like a pig. I have a Rhino in mine and it is the perfect power for this jet.
Michel |
RE: Skymaster F-4E phantom
P160 at least - preferably a Rhino or equivalent (16-17kg range). I used a Rhino in Ireland - perfect for the job!
Remember that the F4 has a Delta wing shape. It bleeds speed off in the turns very quickly. For interest - my BB F4 weighed around 16.5kgs WITHOUT fuel. I believe that a P120 would not be able to handle the F4 safely. cheers, Leon |
RE: Skymaster F-4E phantom
okey! p-160!
now about the flap problem with elevator... how about make the outer sufrasses flaperons than the incide so the irflow wont affect elevator?....just thinking loud...[8D] |
RE: Skymaster F-4E phantom
What flap problem with elevator???? Almost no pitch changes when applying flaps. Very stable and slows down nicelly with them. Only thing you do not want to let the nose go in a negative AOA if going to slow or it will be dificult to make it come back up again. But it is a minor thing.:D
Check the video of my F-4, on both landings you see elevator is still very efective. http://www.jetsrc.com/videos/F-4BB_JetsRC.wmv Michel |
RE: Skymaster F-4E phantom
yeap!no question this is a healthy plane!
cant wait to get ours here[8D] |
RE: Skymaster F-4E phantom
Im trying to mount the centerline tank to the bottom of the fuse, and I would like to make it removable! But, they have threaded rod sticking out of the centerline tank, which goes through the bottom of the plane and gets nuts threaded from inside...which ends up underneath the bypass and makes them not accessable....Anybody have any Ideas on how to make it removable?
Thanks Tommy |
RE: Skymaster F-4E phantom
I'm sure we can find a way. you still coming out on Sunday? We shuld be able to figure out something then... I'll bring out the new F-4 (smaller one) from Skymaster to show as well.. Adil |
RE: Skymaster F-4E phantom
Smaller one? For what size turbine? Dimensions there is nothing in their site yet.
Rgs Alex |
RE: Skymaster F-4E phantom
I'll put some pictures of it next to my regular one to give you guys the size comparison. I believe this is a perfect platform for 20 - 30 lbs turbines.
Basically it is exactly the same us the bigger brother except "shrunk". It is a prototype that I'm building, testing, and flying. Anton will then make changes/updates IF NECESSARY and put it in production. If you read through the earlier pages of this thread you will notice I did the same with the bigger one and overall the results are very impressive. This one should be quite the same. I can not answer any costs or availabiliy dates questions and would ask that you wait for the official announcement from SM directly. Thanks - Adil |

Here you go guys the prototype has arrived.
More to follow in the next week or so. Alan |
RE: Skymaster F-4E phantom
Hum!!! Looks that now I can stay in the 30 pounder range for longer time. I was thinking to change my eagle for a rhino, but now I can keep her for a long time. And I love her. ;)
Thanks for the pics guys! Rgs Alex |
RE: Skymaster F-4E phantom
HI Guys,
I am having a hard time deciding how to layout my components ie. electronics, pnuematics and fuel system components inside my SM F4. Could you post some pictures of insided of the fuse for me to get some ideas. thanks Jason |

RE: Skymaster F-4E phantom
HI Guys,
I am running into a glitch with radio setup wondering if someone may have an answer: I have a JR PCM 10X with Spektrum Module AR9000 RX (9 chan only) so I decided to use AUX 2 for my flaps .. aux 2 into powerbox out to matchbox, out to 2 flaps. now the problem is when I mix in the Flap Switch into the Aux 2(flap) ch, I cannot get the servo travel, offset correctly and cant get it to do a 3 positions. My main problem is that the manual for 10x doesnt explain how to setup flaps into an AUX ch stepwise. My two specific problems are: Offset only goes to -84 or 0 (niether are good zeros) once u set an offset I still dont get 3 positions... without offset (0) will not get 3 positions either. I can just Include AUX 2 switch. but that switch is middle and two extends... If someone has a 10x setu similar to mine and can tell me step by step, will appreciate it very much. Also, has somebody tried mixing a little flaperon with flaps on the F4 to see the outcome? Does it need it? tx jason |
RE: Skymaster F-4E phantom
nice jet,it does well, but not scale.

ORIGINAL: 3DHELINUT Here you go guys the prototype has arrived. More to follow in the next week or so. Alan Anyway, I just want to report that I flew the smaller SM F-4 today on its maiden and I was a pleasure to fly. It was cold and windy but the plane handled it extremely well. We will post some pitures and a video as soon as we can. The plane was put together nicely by Alan and even had his trusty old Amt 180 airstart. Plenty of power !! Thanks Alan and especially Anton !! We definitely have another winner. Regards, Adil |
RE: Skymaster F-4E phantom
What part is not scale about the airplane?

RE: Skymaster F-4E phantom
put it next to a BVM f4,that has been in scale contests for 15 yrs. you can see the difference, I guess the best way to find out is to put it in true scale contest.

RE: Skymaster F-4E phantom
