Hi Michel,

Adil hooked me with his great flying Rhino and I've been enjoying your videos while I'm waiting for mine to arrive. The chute is a must!

Hi Uncle Joe,

And I'm anxious to see your F-4 powered by Metropolitan Edison! My Dad, a Marine, will be glad to see your jet. He occasionally gripes that everything is USAF or NAVY.

ok guys i just spoke to my friends dad who i know for a fact worked on the full size F4 and he swears blind they had spoilers!!!! he then went on to say the phantom had around 3 degrees up aileron and around 40 degree up spoiler , while the opposite aileron droped about 20 degrees ,also what made me query this is because i remember once watching a florida jet video where i think a guy called lewis hamilton ?? flew the century F4 and that showed a working spoiler!! im looking to getting a F4 myself in the comming months but im looking for scale it seems to me theres BVM, SKYMASTER, AND CENTURY, and untill i find out for sure on the spoilers which im now quite confident i have i would say the skymaster is a lovley piece of work but as for scale it would have to be questioned?[>:]
The CJM F-4 that Lewis Patton flew years ago had the spoilers, which for a foam balsa covered wing was easy enough to do. The spoilers were simply flushed into a pocket in the top side of the wing and operated by servos layed on their side under the spoiler, and in turn, the servo arm moved the spoiler up and they were spring loaded to the close position...at least that is the way I remember the setup. It would definitely be harder to install spoilers on an hollow composite wing that wasn't designed for it.

The F4 does in deed have spoilers and the latter models had slatted leading edges for better slow flight handling.
A friend of mine has over 700 hrs in the Rhino and told me that prior to the slatted wings that quite a few pilots were lost if they kicked the rudder too hard rolling in on a target. The slatted wing eliminated this nasty habit. Also during in-flight refueling with out the slats he would have to run one motor in burner as he would have to hold the aircraft in a near stall attitude to slow it down enough to stay behind the tanker!!

BTW May 27th, 2008 is the 50th anniversary of the Phantom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's the color scheme for mine.

Buck,

YOU had the sweetest Phantom ever built to this day in my opinion! Bill Harris is currently building my new F-4E Phantom and was thinking of the National Guard scheme you had from Grice. Did you like that scheme? The white on bottom does help though eh?

I loved it amigo. I only wish spektrum had been around back then it might still be here today. The lizard scheme is a tough one amigo. it's green, gray-green all over. the only way to discern the top from the bottom were from the tanks.

it was a sweet ride fo' sho'. extending strut full stores compliment. I'll definitely get another one.

Michel,

Anton just received the first 10 lighting systems from me for the F-4. Includes the brand new, re-designed controller, Luxeon landing light, tail strobe, wingtip position lights, low level tip lenses and all the other scale lenses for the airframe. Anton should have them available very soon. Still working on 10 chute systems for him. Should have them completed this weekend. Thanks for the chute video. I put it up on the site. The chute looks great on your Black Bunny F-4! Now, I have to find time to finish the operating canopy system. ;)

RE: Skymaster F-4E phantom

Hey Dave,

The F-16 is next. I had one here, but the customer got too impatient and I didn't have a chance to do the parts I/he wanted me to do. I planned on doing the speed brakes, chute system and operating canopy system for the SM F-16, but I couldn't keep the jet here long enough. I did however, get a chance to finish the lighting system for it though, complete with all the scale lenses. I'll send you some pictures if you like. I haven't had time to get it up on the website yet. You could have a chute system though. I just need someone to cut the rear tail base piece off of their fuse and send it to me, so I can make the chute add-on housing to fit. I had planned on that next on the F-16 that was here, but as I said the customer just had to have it shipped to him before Christmas, so it wasn't completed. Send me an e-mail if you're interested in the chute system. As soon as I finish the last of the F-4 parts, I'm putting the F-4 I have here up for sale and having Skymaster send a white F-16 to me next, so I can complete the other parts.

Dan

Hi Dan, the lights on my F-4 are from Flugmodellbau, we have them for our South American customers. They work great and the F-4 simply looks awesome with the lights. Nothing to say about the chute it works great and I don't use the brakes anymore, the chute does all the work...:D , but I do need the replacement controler system asap to have it installed.;)
Operating canopy???? Count me in right away...[X(]

RE: Skymaster F-4E phantom

Hi Michel,

I'm waiting on some new digital isolators for the second generation Autochute units. The newest units will replace the Autochute II units. The new unit has a bunch of new features; especially in the programming. They will be much easier to program and use. Your chute looks fantastic on the Phantom! That new picture shot from ground level is great!!! I should have the canopy units in a couple of weeks. The canopy unit will be a direct replacement for the original canopy unit and will be available in primer only. I'll let you know when they are ready.

Happy New Year,

Dan
