RE: Nitro models pusher Bobcat?

You in the US are lucky .In GB well pay £149 ($ 300 Approx) for the plane and £15 postage ($30)
I'm just getting the hinges and boom servos in mine (HS81's in the booms and throttle, standard 325's in wing and nose wheel
I've been absorbed by the thread and picked up on some good tips. Changing all linkages to carbon rods , remaking landing gear and chucking some of the hardware.
I'm going for a West 50 VI with a west genesis pipe and an 11x7 apc pusher.
Pipe increases revs and keeps noise down . We have some noise sensitive people in the UK it's a small island with not much flying space for modellers!!
May think about a second Bobcat and fit retracts.
Thanks for all the good info you guys.
Keep posting your advice. :D

Anyone know if the Falcon has a 2 piece wing or are the booms removable for transport. I am also thinking about putting a turbine on it.

Sean,
I pre-ordered two orange Falcons and also realized later they ofter a white one too.
I sent them via email (not verbal) to request an exchange of the orange with a white one.
They wrote back "No problem" they would change the order immediately.
I will also be notified when the shipment arrives, hopefully to once again ensure I receive a ORANGE and WHITE Falcon.

So you may want to contact them to make the adjustment for you if you still would like to have a white one.

I, too I'am interested in the quality of this size. I had a yellow BC50 last year that I lost when I lost the signal.
(To close to power tower) I bought another yellow and gray Bobcat to convert to electric and IC.
However, I'm gone to sell these (easily at my field I might add) and deal with the Falcons.
I have a Artes Bee that I was thinking of putting in it, but I think I'm going to buy a JJ1400 for it.
From what I read, JetJoe is trying to make great strides in producing a better product, I'll see!

I figure "cheap with cheap." Just can't phantom putting a $2500 engine in a $250 plane thats not turbine tested.
I already kind of know from dealing with the Bobcat 50 that these will also require some beefing up and modification.

Just can't seem to resist the deal, as these kits will make excellent home field and push it to the limit practice planes.

(HS81's in the booms
FYi, the gear trains in the 81's are tiny..I doubt very much that they could handle the loads that your engine and prop and going to throw at them...

I need help about tank assembly and connect to engine.

I don't understand the diagram tank in the manual. [:o]

What is "soray line"? Which of tubbing's I connect in the engine? somebody had problems with air bubbles using these connections?

Thanks for help.

Long line with clunk to engine
Vent to muffler pressure
third line is fuel fill (if you use three lines)

Some people are replacing the tubing with a better quality.

althogh not in the pictures, ive mounted a mg125 for the elevator, and futaba148's for the rudders, the balance is perfect.

I had to pull the wings off to get the locating wire out of the way so I could remove the tank and replace that cheap #$#@ fuel tubing -
I did away with that rod and used 6-32 blind nuts in the exsisting holes. I installed a second set of 6-32 blind nuts as far forward in the wing root as I could get them. Used 1" squares of 1/8" aircraft ply to reinforce the inside of the fuse where the 6-32 cap bolts screw into the wings. With that piece of rod out of the way the tank is removable without disassembling the wings and booms.

Several people using these have posted flight reports way back in the thread with no problems. Two HS-81's or HS-85's should be more than enough for the relatively small elevator and minimal throw at high speeds.

Just curious how you were able to check the balance as the plane does not appear to be completed, no prop, no muffler, no servo linkages. Also the rudder servos in the picture do not look like 148's, they look like mini servos with only one screw on each side.

I can't get my big hands that far in the fuse to do up bolts.....It would be nice though, cuz I have to yank it out again...I'm sucking air bubbles from somewhere......

85's yes..I haven't heard of anyone using nylon geared 81's. Just my experience, but I would not use them on a control surface of a glow powered plane - your mileage may vary....;)

I am using 81 MG servos 1 on each rudder and two on the elevator on the Bobcat on a 6V system...more than enough power.

ah, but not the plain 81's with the nylon gears...thats the ones I was referring to (Obviouly for got that little detail...)

I've got HS81s on my rudders but wouldn't use them on elevator. I've used a single metal-geared miniservo in the tailplane for my elevator.

So far it's all holding up just fine (although the maingear folded up on what was a *reallY* smooth landing last weekend. Same old story -- the blocks were rubbish wood and it seems they ran out of glue so just pushed them into place.

OK.. but the tank is positioned to front or rear fuse?

My concern is bubbles in the fuel line.

Thanks.

I can answer this one tubing comes out towards the front of plane then wraps back to motor clunker towards the rear

dragraces,
No, I haven't flown it yet. As a matter of fact I haven't flown any of my planes yet this year. Been a little busy with work and a few other projects and when I've had time there's been gail force winds. I'll let ya know when I do. I got the moving avitar from a website a long time ago but I can't remember what it was.
