I like to build so I will probably never buy a Turn Key jet, but thats just my preference. But I have spent over A$15000 on all the parts for my Turboprop model

No problem man.. theres not alot of jet guys in my part of VA (myself, and 2 others. one of which i'm building a Comp-arf kangaroo for). I'll be in San Diego from Feb. 19th to march 1st for work. Other then that, i have nooo idea when i'll be back on that side of the country, as i believe i've got t ferry one of our kingairs to honduras and back.. ohh the joys of work :)

I know you guys want this thread to die but............ can't resist throwing in my 2 cents worth. Like most of you I don't understand the purpose of this thread. Perry, unless you are considering buying or selling a jet in those price ranges why do you care ?? I would venture to say that most if not all of the expensive jets for sale have more $$ invested than they are asking. Even if they don't, so what ? They are free to ask whatever they want for their airplanes. I think if you just follow the for sale adds you will see the answer to your questions. These higher priced aircraft are still selling, but not nearly as fast as they used to. Thats my observation anyway. I only wish I could afford to buy a couple of these jets. Like everbody else, I dont want to pay more than I have to but these are the prices that this quality of bird will bring.

One thing that NOBODY mentioned in this thread is that most of those planes with those Lamborghini price tags are of Top Gun quality and may or may not have competed there. I remember seeing a big (I think it was a BVM ) F86 that was a Top Gun competetor for sale for $29,000.00

A couple of people mentioned that quality of the work is included in the price. These Top Gun models have an amazing amount of intricate detail built into them, most of which is left to the modeler to do; not Tam, BV, Skymaster etc. I dont recall seeing any Yellow Aircraft jets with fully detailed gun bays and hydraulic lines. The people that put that level of detail in those models spend an unbelieveable amount of tedious and painstaking time making those details from SCRATCH and a lot of people do not realize the full extent of what that effort includes. Granted it may be an ARF that they used to compete with, but the detailing that they did to it is what makes it stand out and say "don't park next to me".

p.s. What about the C17 that was for sale for $52K??!?!?! [X(] The nice thing about that model.....if it started to rain you could crawl inside it! LOL Well, maybe not quite.

hi guys

I have L39 and i was thinking of installing a smoke system but i have a tail pipe so do i put the smoke injector before or after the pipe??? and i need to see the injector does any one can put some photos for it :)

If I have the money it would be easy for me to buy a jet worth $15,000 and fly it the next day. But if i build the same jet, i would be scared to fly it:D (EXAMPLE Y/A TWIN F-18 Jet)[X(]

Who opened this thread back up? But on the other hand, I have done some research,and haven't found any planes/jets that have sold for over 18K to 25K lately, if I have missed a "Big Money" sale, I'm sure someone will advise me of my error.
