Thanks Enrique for your positive comment. Hopefully I will be flying soon again.

P.S.: I don't know how forwarders do it but taxes are included in shipment costs and are not so high

For your information I have been in the aircraft maint. field for 32 yeras, and typed rated in a Cessna Citation Bravo.
Just wondering … why do you keep mentioning the Cessna that you say you spent $20,000 getting rated for ?

Based on your own 'logic', should we assume that you are "showing off and saying 'look at me', 'look how much I spent to be able to fly that Cessna' ??

Gordon

I'd have to agree with ya on this one Gordon.. Cause personally, i think ANYONE who pays for their type rating to fly a "xxx airplane" needs to rethink their bank account.. Yes i said it. There is NO WAY in hell i'm paying $20,000 for a type rating out of my own pocket unless the employer is paying for it, or i have a guaranteed contract to repay that expense at the successful completion of training. but thats just how I am. And yes i've turned down "jet jobs" that wanted me to pay for the type..

Sorry Jeteffx but your "braggin" of your type rating isn't the same as a model jet. Oh BTW.. did i mention i got free flight training in the King-Air 90's i fly currently [:-]

To Invertmast and Gordon Mc,
the reason why I have brought up that I've got a type rating in the Citation is because I'm just letting Jet Time know that I know a thing or two about aircraft. Plus he has mentioned that i should open up my wallet and spend some money. Well I havw. Regarding the comment about a person paying for their own type rating, well it happens all the time. You normally pay for your first type rating to get the job and log turbine time. Afterwards the company will pick up the re-current training. The company I fly for also gave me free training in the King Air 200 and the C90. And I've already amade enough to cover the expense for my training. Depending on your experience, some companies will pick up a new type if they want you bad enough.Based on logic one could assume I could be bragging, it's would be just your perspective on the situation.

Maybe a thing or two about airplanes, but nothing about common sense...sounds like bragging to me and attacking from the start of MY ad and MY airplane sense.
Thanks Gordon, Don and Thomas.

"one could assume I could be bragging, it's would be just your perspective on the situation."

So then why do you assume a jet for sale in the classifieds for $12,000 to $20,000 is bragging? It seems that you are the one with the skewed perspective. You say all you want to know is who would buy a jet for such a price while at the same time questioning a persons sanity if they would. Just what kind of a response are you expecting when you loaded the question from the very start?

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, yours is as valid as the next guys', but you are painting yourself into a corner here.

Uhm sorry.... but that doesn't ring true for everyone (and i'm not saying it does or doesn't for you) but i've known some very high time pilots (8,000+ hours) who were completely retarded when it came down to "aircraft" in general.. And these are guys who people trust to fly them thousands of miles a year.

Lowell,
If i ever get a chance to get out to jet meets on the left coast, i'll buy ya a beer!

Thomas, I would look forward to that. We have a lot of jet events out here...come on out and get some stick time on some of my birds. I think I need a beer after all this BS! Why even start something like this..we all do what we want to do. Some just want more and are not satisfied with the norm...oh well..'nuff said!
Dan, your still right on!

Woahhhhhh !!!!!! Hang on just a cotton-picking minute … exactly what kind of beer are you talking about here ?

If you are planning on drinking one of those $1.50 or more per bottle / can beers then I think you need your head examined. It just so happens that I get by very nicely on my 58c per can Budweiser, so if you are spending any more than that on your beer then you are just an uncouth show-off.

My type ratings:

G-1159 (G-II, G-IIB, G-III)
G-IVSP
HS-125-800
Never spent a dime on training.

RE: Just Wondering????????

To G4 Guy,
I guess you were born with a all your ratings. Maybe someone other than yourself, paid for your training. The USAF and G.I bill paid for some of my flight training, including my A & P ticket. Well you have been blessed for achieving all your type ratings. I'm with Simuflight as a volunteer crew member. I get credit for each sim session I'm in, after I get all the credits, then they will scholarship me a type rating of my choice. And to the men who are complaining about this thread, no one twisted your arm to participate in this debate. You did at your own free will and choice. I am really surprised by the response this has gotten. To Jet Time, I'm just wondering if you painted your F4, if you did you did an outstanding job, looks great. Most of my jets now are ARF's, and all I do is put the assembly together. Really not that hard of a job. Just a few years ago you really couldn't find a quality ARF, most were kits. That's where the real engineering and research is done, or to the guys like David Hudson, who scratch build a jet. I could really understand a person who would ask thousands for a jet he MADE.

Thanks effx, but have you noticed that you have been on the defensive since you started this thread? You are constantly having to defend yourself. Some have offered solutions to the thread and maybe you should think about that rather than leaving people feeling be-littled by it. No one has to read it, you're right, but most will defend and take offense to being put down and called physco.
Think about it....
Thanks,
Lowell

All I've done is respond to your inputs of "open up my wallet", "don't know a thing about research, eng'ring". I have nothing to be defensive about. I will admit to I should have used a better word than sanity. I never said anyone was physco. What I should have done in retrospect, was do a poll. If I offened anyone, I'm sorry. Just wondering Jet Time, what do you do for a living? Just curious.
