RE: rcjetsdirect A10
Hey Lowell
Thats funny, because John had siad he had talked to you last week about what he and i had discussed. I guess he did not fill you in. As always, bad communication. I suppose you want to blame me for sics kit not being shipped out also. I had a funny feeling that you would act agressively about that post , but you and John have known what has been going on and that is very unfortunate that you need to act in that manner. And as for the last 11 months, I have no clue of what you are talking about. I had not started full production until 3 months ago. The first plane flew in february if you remember. You have also had complete kits that you could have sent out while i was catching up on making the new fuse hatches. Having exclusive distribution does not mean giving me $1500 to finish tooling and include the money for the 2 kits that i had built for you as well as your money for the components that you had to put in them. I have sacrificed too much time from my family, money, etc. completing this project to be taken advantage of. I tried to be civil about this and its very unfortunate that it has to end this way. A phone call could have been more appropriate to clear up what was bothering you. I wish you the best on your new projects and i would hope that you were not splashing since you stated you would have yours completed in october which would be near impossible based on the timeframe and the fact that you have never done a project like this before. You have mentioned splashing on other planes. That siad, i guess i have nothing more to say to you or the other you that appears when you are wanting something. Good Luck! thanks chris |
RE: rcjetsdirect A10
All that was said are the facts...and we have cancelled checks for over $7000 PLUS the kits that we put into this project!
Your right Chris...a phone call would have been nice to discus this BEFORE you posted it. John and I did talk and always have good communication. The problem is, you just going ahead and making this decision WITHOUT discussing it with us. We are not "splashing" anything as we are making a larger one than yours to accommodate a broader range of pilots. Maybe it's time to start your own thread...this one is RC JETS Direct. My post was the facts....and professional. My reputation speaks for itself. Lowell |
RE: rcjetsdirect A10
Not the place to air your buisness problems chaps, please take it somewhere else, all you are achiving on here is to make anyone interested in these airframes uneasy in dealing with you both.

RE: rcjetsdirect A10
Just like you keep telling everyone about a website that is to come but still i have not even seen it. I think you mentioned that at the beginning of this thread. That right there is proof of your reputation. I had called a web designer the other day and siad he could have it finished in about 2 days.
You were never even invited into this project and John somehow slipped you in from left field and all i have recieved from you is a mouthful of lies. From the times i had driven 7 hours to see the planes fly on 2 different occasions just to be let down because they were not actually finished, to you obviously sneeking behind my back to do another A10 project. Typical of a salesman. I cannot do business with somebody that takes weeks to get in touch with. I know we get busy in our everyday lives but a call at the end of the day that would take about 10 minutes should not be out of your way. Anyways, it is the typical human nature to get mad when we cannot have something we want and i already told you that i had appreciated what you guys have done. John seemed to take this in a good fashion last week when i had told him and i wish you would have to. As for now this is not your thread anymore, because its not an rc jets direct A10 anymore. This is sics thread and he has siad he will be posting his build on here, so you may want to start your own. You can post what you want on this thread to destroy it but i am finished going back and forth with you. thanks chris |
RE: rcjetsdirect A10
I know Mike, and i apologize to all that had to see what was happening behind the scenes. It really didnt need to come to this. My apologies.

RE: rcjetsdirect A10
Chris,
Good for you. You don't need anybody to else to sell your planes they sell them selfs. All you are doing is cutting out the middle man and dealing with you directly. Your going to make more money i'm sure of it! I'm ready to place my order with you.Like i said awhile back i have a store in San luis Obispo and would love to sell your A-10.Good luck hope to hear from you soon please respond to my PM ASAP. Thanks Woodmaster:D |
RE: rcjetsdirect A10
Sorry to see this all turn sour.
My kit is now in the UK. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to pay the import duty and then, with a bit of luck, it will be in my hands in a few days. Considering what has happened here, I will post the news of its safe arrival on this thread and then start a new one for the build. Hopefully that way I will be able to concentrate more on the model than the politics. |
RE: rcjetsdirect A10
Hi,
I, too, was looking forward to building one of these and am sorry to see this happen. I do have to say, though, that having known John for 15 years (some of those years working for him), that he is a fair and honest businessman. His investment in this deal, and its subsequent disposition, looks to me like an example of "no good deed goes un-punished..." He's got thousands of dollars worth of investment into this 'partnership' (not to mention the thousands of dollars worth of incomplete kits) sitting there waiting for committments to be fulfilled. I happened to be in the room during this "conversation" and although I could only hear one half of the conversation, it was clear to me that John was being characteristically patient and trying avoid what is probably going to end up being a very bad outcome for all. I think it's an oversimplification to sum this up as 'politics'. There's more to this than that. Also, cutting out the middle-man is fine....provided the middle-man hasn't made a substantial good-faith investment in the venture and that the middle-man is the only one in the partnership with a mechanism for testing, marketing and supporting the product. This is particularly true if the manufacturer hasn't delivered the promised product, thereby leaving the 'middle-man' holding the bag with merchandise he's paid for but can't do anything with. Cutting out the 'middle-man' sometimes is the worst thing you can do for the customer, too, if the middle-man is the one with the ethics and 30 years of experience in the hobby business. I'm not trying to stir this pot, but I just felt I couldn't sit here and see John dealt with like this and not chime in. |
RE: rcjetsdirect A10
Well put Shaun. John is definitely a stand-up guy.

RE: rcjetsdirect A10
John is not the one i am really concerned about and he is a great guy, dont get me wrong. We have had a few falling outs with some communications issues but i am willing to put that aside because he is very busy body with his business in San Diego. I am not here to put him down and like i was saying it was going to be a temporary thing so i could get caught up on things. I did get a chance to talk to him today and the story was the same as last week when we talked. We had a very long understanding talk and it went well.
This plane is not an easy plane to do. I am a one man crew at the moment and i have about 50 molds that i need to release with two types of release ,spray surface coat, lay up , vacuum bag and on most, need to be closed out, just to get one kit finished. Its a big process for one man to do, as well as working another part time job. Its not like all the other jets like f16 , f15 etc. that have half as many molds. Thats also probably why the mibo A10 is on the more expensive side, plus they have a great kit. Its been hard keeping the cost down on the kits and having a distributer. The plane hit the market fast and all cost of production was not considered, putting it at over twice the cost i had thought. I will admit that i am not really experienced on the business end of this and at that ,i have learned a few mistakes, but i know from the competitive market , that the price of the kit needs to be priced accordingly, especially with the need for 2 powerplants. As for investment, i have spent 3 years of my life trying to perfect this kit and finish up molds so people can have a more scale looking a10 without the need for a long build. Over those 3 years it was like working two jobs. My regular day job and on this project, usually until 3 in the morning. So i guess you can say that it would add up to 3 years of pay along with all the cnc equipment that was purchased as well as all the cost for tooling material which all adds up to an expensive project (And alot of trial and error). John has helped me out here and there which was muchly appreciated and i do take that into consideration. I dont expect to make back what i have invested but i would like some kind of return for production without needing to work myself into the ground to make it happen. John will sell those 10 kits and have already made back his investment , minus the time he put into them to get them dressed for flight. I will probably never see a full return on mine. And i am not saying, this is a good reason to push him aside. I will be sending him out the last few detail parts for the few kits that needed them so they can be shipped out. That siad, again i apologize for any confusion thanks chris |
RE: rcjetsdirect A10
Ok now let get down to bus...So is this thing available to ship if so how much?????? |
RE: rcjetsdirect A10
Hello chanodidit
I will honor lowells (jet time) kits until they are exhausted. I am not sure on the status of his list. You can contact him and see if he has any left. If not, then i can put you on my list until things get straightened out. The cost of the kit is $1295. thanks chris |
RE: rcjetsdirect A10
They are available for shipment now. I have contacted everyone on the list in the order they were asked to be put on. The kits are limited so please contact me as soon as possible.
Thank you all for your patience, and I know you will love this plane! Thanks again, Lowell |
RE: rcjetsdirect A10
It's here:D
Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to unpack it yet but the box is intact so that is a good start. When I get home from work I will start a new build thread with pics of the unstarted model. |
