Should the flywheel be able to spin without the engine shaft turning? My flywheel doesn't seem to be on tight enough I don't think because it can spin freely without the shaft turning. Unless its supposed to be able to.
WHen i turn the engine shaft the flywheel will spin. When I spin the flywheel it just spins freely and doesn't turn over the engine.

the flywheel is NOT supposed to turn independantly from the crank! Check the nut; also, check the brass collar that the flywheel is mounted on, it may be worn down from the flywheel being loose

that was it. My flywheel could spin.
Would that be the reason that when I was running my truck that it just stopped and wouldn't go anywhere when I gave it gas?
I got it tightened and I'm going to try it out tomorrow

Yepper! If the flywheel is loose, the engine can't transmit the power to the clutch, which, in turn, means, You ain't goin' nowhere! If you have it tightened up, you should be good to go.

I hope so. At least I got the experience of taking my engine off and on 8 times and taking the clutch assembly apart and back on a few times, lol.
