Default Please help me tune this engine,

ok the x factor engine runs kinda funny,

it will only hit top speed when the hsp needle is at about 4 turns and it has slow accelation when its like this and it uses alot of fuel,

if i lean it out at all it wont run at high speeds, it wants to jut die when it gets at a higher speed, ive tried every needle combination possible and it wont seem to run lean,

as it is now ive got the lsp needle at about 1-2 turns out and the hsp about 3 1/2 - 4 turns out, it just will not run lean, and its annoying as well as no fun to drive, please help me with any ideas

Please try global hobbies to make sure you got the right adjustments, or go to hobbypeoples site. I've heard others complain of this only to find that the initial adjusments were not right.

I don't no if this will help you, but try setting lspd needle 3 turns out, from seated this initial setting. Im going to guess on the high spd needle to start at at least 4 turns out. These are just initial settings. They are calling for a McCoy #glow plug. Id definatly try a new glow plug also. The guys with the xtm mamouths st's might be able to give you a little more accurate info on your needle settings. When im not feeling to lazy I will go check in my manual tomorrow and send you the right initial settings. I know the low spd is definately right for initial settings, and 4 turns out form seated on the high spd will at least get you started, then you can tune from there. Sometimes they are a royal pain in the A**

Default RE: Please help me tune this engine,

I got the exact settings for you from my 24.7 manual for my XFactor Again 3 turns Out from lighty seated on the Low spd BUT: (Do this setting with the throttle slide pulled to the wide open position of course without the motor running, this is how you set the initial low spd setting.) these instructions are per XTM Maual. High spd needle 3 turns out from lightly seated.

These are initial settings, I knew 4 turns would get you close on high spd needle settings. but the above settings are the initial factory starting points.

On you other post with your one way, spray it out and check it to see if it slips look at it with a magnifying glass for cracks bfore installing it. once replaced, make sure its installed correctly, trust me it can be easy to make a mistake, if you are not paying attention i speak from experience. The last thing you want is it flying a part inside your engine.

good Luck
