Default Ramp help!

Ok yell at me now for not doing a search. I want to build a ramp for the back yard for some Revo bash fun. Can some of you all post the plans you used to build yours to help me make a decision on what would be best for me. Thanks.

I don't have a ramp but you could look up skate boarding ramps or table tops as an idea...

I used these plans. You can get 6-8 feet of air off this ramp.

This may sound weird at first but what i use as i jump is: easy to move around, adjustable, cheap, and can find them almost any wear. I use a fold up chair. the ones you find at walmart. They a plastics and make great jumps. I will post PICS tomorrow. I have built ramps before and compared to this it was a waste of time! It really works.

Ok the chair idea sounds interesting because it would be really easy to move and store. But is it durable. Post the pics when you get a chance please.

When i was lookingg for a ramp i was looking for a couple of things. Slope, Easy to move, durability, and adjustability. I found the fold up chairs to do all that. They are very stable, very durable, easy to move (any weight like 5 punds), and you can adjust it from 6''- 3' and with that it changes the slope. The only problem i though it was going to have were the little hole i the folding part but my revo just flys up it. I guess the tires are big enough so roll over and not fall throw. So the chairs really don't have a bad side!

it seems like once the truck got to the top it would knock over the chairs

Sorry for the 2nd post. Here is another link to a GREAT ramp plan with detailed pictures, measurements and everything. This ramp will get you some major air (and plenty of opportunity for broken parts if you are not careful).

No way the chair thing is stable. Can it be? Looks too flimsy. Might try it out anyway and also build one too.

you may think it is not stable but i sure know that i am getting air from some thing and my truck aint just catching wind and flying away. It might not work with a LST or savage becuase of the weight but my revo flys off it and the chair stays in place the whole time! Just try it and don't trash talk it please too you find out for yourself.

Im having a feeling my LST would end up driving through them. saw a vid of a guy that sent his LST through a wooden faced jump.

I want to get some aluminum sheet and build a ramp from that.

some ply for the sides, and cross support, and metal for the face.

my problem is a good place to put it. my lawns all bumpy and kinda tall, makes straight lines a nightmare. cant flatten it obviously, and if I mow it short ill die pronto(though that would solve the mowing chore)

Put the ramp at the edge of your driveway facing the lawn. No matter if the lawn is lumpy, you will only be using it for landing. Then you can get speed across the driveway, hit the ramp at the edge of the lawn and land in the lawn. Or, put the ramp at the edge of the sidwalk if you have one. I would advise against putting it in the street, but that is another option. Either way, you can get a smoother approach to line things up. Also, plywood works for the face of the ramp also, but make sure to use the 1/4" plywood and not the really thin stuff or your LST will go through it. It's also a little hard to bend it to fit the ramp, but nothing a couple clamps cannot fix...

Cheap, easy to make, portable, light and adjustable angle. I use it all the time.

I thought about the toys r us one but it is awfully small width wise and height also. Also 30 dollars will buy you materials for a nice wooden jump.

ive 1 like this and i cant fit in trunk in impala ( maybe my subs r taking to much space) and its to low so jumps r not high and to find anything to put under and make it higher is really hard to be stable if i find something, but im going 1 place and im making ramp out of plywood just full size 8x4 plywood na just anything to make stand mayhem is flying like 50 yards and like 8 feet high so its nice
