I think you should play around with lowering the frame end of the suspension links. With them at such an angle you are probably going to see some funky handling and have a hard time getting the suspension to work right. Also, you have to consider that the axle is going to move in an arc as the suspension cycles, and the wheelbase changes. Since you lengthened the wheelbase by relocating the pivot points on the frame instead of making longer suspension links, this becomes more important now. I would bet that keeping a center dogbone in that thing is going to be frustrating as is... I might be wrong though.

Watch from the side as you fully compress the suspension, and note the changes. Then just for giggles lower the pivot points on the frame and do it again... just to see.

Oh i no, i can push down on the shocks and it gains an inch or two, wen i lengtened the chassis i lenghtended the wrong part so i have to re do it, i will do that tomarrow.

I think i understand wat u mean by pivot points, but i don't mind, using pain show were and wat u mean by lowering them? thanks chronic!

O and did u see my shoping list for this week?

Python, just lengthen the suspension links. Get some nice looooooooooong turnbuckles or all-thread rod and use some aftermarket ball ends.

Congrats on the new truck, I like those tacos man:)

Where the suspension arms bolt to the chassis. Lower those bolt holes down on the frame a little bit. It will cause the arms to sit more level and you won't see such radical geometry changes as the suspension cycles up and down.

I don't know how well this illustrates it... but the left side is with the link mounts up high, and the right is with them lowered. You can see the angle that the arms sit at is reduced, and the arc that the axle will travel in is better.

What is that, balsa? Run it! :D :D Lightest material, and stronger then carbon fiber!!! :D

Have you figured out what you will do for driveshafts yet? I may have overlooked it if you said it already. Man, those Mad Forces are pretty sweet, the white/orange/black fade one especially. What are your plans for the MF again? Slammed racer or monster? It looks sweet with those LST shocks. Then again, LST shocks look sweet on pretty much anything.

I have been playing around with the fowling:

STS .30v2
Axial .28rr
Axial .28
STS .28
Wasp crf rev .28 off road, wen it is released! the .28 on road will be first, the .21 will be out soon.
Rebuild the Gs21r, that was the best engine i ever had
Lrp .28
Picco .28
O.S. .21-.30

Well here she is, after along nights work here she is! I lowered the pivot point and it has made a nice difference, i moved the tranny/engine plate so i can get my axles to work, moved the shocks. It has been slammed since the first mach up but is still high enough for my liking.

ORIGINAL: pythonfan

Thats wat i was thinking, I'm not putting rear steer even tho it would be cool.

I was thinking of doing that mount but 2, dual steering servos? And then join a brace between the 2 for strength.

Wat should i make the chassie out of> carbon, graphite, alum???

I have basic hand tools, with the access of power tools, no maching like the big boys! Old School!
I've used dragonplate to make a chassis before.
http://dragonplate.com/
http://dragonplate.com/sections/gallery.asp#rcchassis
CF will kill saw blades, I went through a good bit of quality scroll saw blades when I made my chassis. They also offer CNC services so if you can get them a CAD file they can cut the chassis for you.

Idea for you python skin TVPs. vinyl with the pattern printed on it.

I will more than likely drop an Axial .28 in my Mad Force. Considering the performance that the weak little stock .21 provides, you don't need much engine to get the job done, and it seems like too much would detract from the fun factor. If I don't go with the Axial, it will probably get something like a chopshop sourced Mach 427 or whatever other decent mill I can get for cheap.... maybe even a hot little .21 of some sorts.

pythonfan 05-03-2007 03:07 PM

RE: The Dreams Are Starting! Update, pics are loaded!

Well i was even thinking about kyosho's own .28, i might go toward the axial cause than i can use stock pipe and its cheaper overall.
