hey rapsucks 07
the masher and moab tires are both really tall and will decrease your handling, but as to what tires you want to get all depends on what kind of surface your running on...i have the proline dirt paw tires and i love them for mudding

Tall tires many hit the body when turning in the front.

If you race on a track you sure do not want to make your truck higher. Looks like from what you are saying you need numerous sets of wheels and tiers. I have no problem with my Pro line Bow Ties on any of the above other then I do not run on road.

Those tires would be good for soft dirt put not on packed dirt. The pins are WAY to big. They do not say what the OD is.

Size of the pins/blocks
There's a basic rule of thumb that says:"The softer the dirt, the bigger the pins need to be.". Long pins work by penetrating the (soft) soil, and short pins usually work by scraping off the upper layer of the soil.
Bear in mind that long pins and very soft compounds don't mix very well, then the spikes just bend over instead of penetrating the dirt.
Density of the pins/blocks
For a given tire width, the density of the pins is inversely proportional to the weight supported by each pin. There's usually an optimum, where the tire works best. For example: if a certain tire works very well when it's heavily loaded, but doesn't feel right when it isn't loaded, the tread pattern is probably too dense. This can happen in very dusty or soft conditions.
Tires for sticky mud usually have a very low spike density, because too much spikes cause too much stiction for the amount of traction they create, slowing the car down.
Pins or blocks
Round pins provide grip that feels the same in all directions, it feels consistent and it's somewhat easier to slide. Very useful on difficult, low-traction, bumpy tracks.
Square blocks feel more 'edgy', they can give the impression of generating slightly more grip, especially on smooth, hard surfaces. The forward traction they generate also feels nicer.
Center tread
Some tires have a larger tread pattern in the center, often shaped like an X, an I, or a T. In all cases, it increases forward traction dramatically.
Note that on 4WD cars, more forward traction from the front tires can also mean more steering.

I hate, hate, HATE the stupid glow plug igniter. Being as I am new to this and the car is brand new, it's taking me a while to actually get the car started (for a number of reasons, mostly trying to find the right setting for the carb). By the time I went to take the car out today for a proper run the damn glow plug igniter battery had run down (Before I take the car out anywhere, I always start it up in my garage to warm it up, etc).

Grr, frustrated!

hey arapoda, remember to always charge your glow igniter's up in advance to going out...IE the park. also your saying its hard to start. i have the same problem its due to the cold weather. all you have to do is prime the engine hold the glow igniter on the glow plug for 10-15 seconds and then spin her over (dont remove the glow igniter untill the engine is started). she should fire up straight away. it works for me so it should work for you. good luck

of course the mashers are going to last longer, but the moab are WAY lower profile and are going to help you a lot with your turning and accelerating... the m2k's are high and bulky, and if you hit a turn the wrong way or too fast, you're gonna flip or not be able to make the turn...

for all around I run Pro-Line Dirt Hawgs all the way around, or moab's, for racing I run bow ties, and for going to glamis, I run sand paws, lol, but that's only once or twice a year

I did a lot of research on tires when I had my rock crawler. I always thought the moabs were bigger than mashers.... I ran mashers on my rock crawler. Regardless of what tire you get you should tape the insides to keep from ballooning. The tires seem to have about the same overall diameter (3mm difference) but the Masher is about 3/16" (5mm) wider. Which means it is only going to stick out on one side of the rim 2.5mm more than the moab. Thats only .098"

Info from towerhobbies.com

Masher 2000

FEATURES: Black rubber tires with split-V slotted treads.

SPECS: Inner bead diameter: 56mm (2.2" )
Total outer diameter: 124mm (4.9" )
Inner bead width: 50mm (2" )
Total outer width: 62mm (2.4" )

Moab

FEATURES: Larger-than-standard diameter (creates 1/2" taller ground clearance)
Full-bodied tread gives traction from just about any angle

SPECS: Overall diameter and width: 5" x 2.25" (127mm x 57mm)
Wheel Diameter: 2.2" (56mm)- Stadium Truck Size

I'm not even the one that painted it

I bought the truck used a while back and it came with that shell. I'm airbrushing up a body for my friend's MT now though. I'll post it up when I'm finished.

I never ran the Gladiators but have heard good things about them. I have considered them and now I am not racing my MT might try them some time. I am getting ready to put new wheels and tires on my MT but all ready have a set of Bow Ties so I will be using them for now.

hey mine too!

But they are on my Tower Hobbies wish list!

It won't be ready for another couple weeks probably. I'll be using the paint booth at work and still have to practice a bit with the airbrush before I give it a go. I'm going to cut some 2 litre bottles in half and clean them up real good and try to mask those off and paint them and see how they turn out. If I screw up I didn't waste a body

This was a touring car body I started on for a friend. Started painting it with a can and realized the vinyl I used for the masking didn't have a good enough adhesive so the paint bleed. I ended up trashing it.
