Hey Gang,
Question about replacing front dogbones and axles on MT 2..... How does the GSM (front) universal shafts perform and hold up compared to the factory dogbones and axles???

Thanks for any input you might have!

Hi Kyle...its a very durable truck if you get the 18ss version. its 4wd so it handles great...on and off the road. Its great for jumping. I would just tell you to get alluminium steering knuckles as the stock plastic ones are known to be weak. If you have to money wait and get the (mt2 18ss +) or you coud get the mt2 18ss. Much better than the rtr version . Hope this helped. any more info needed just ask[8D]

I think they are made from a stronger material like steel. And are less prone to bend. They claim it also helps transfer the power to the wheels better. Plus they look nice and shiney. Much better than stock. But pricey in my opinion.

well it depends if your going to get the rtr model (t.15) engine. Poor engine. Slow, overheats, hard to tune..you name it. On the other hand the mt2 18ss which comes with the hpi nitro star .18 engine. This is a good engine, Not heard many bad things about it. Most of the guys on here sold their nitro star .18 on ebay brand new and bought a o.s .18cv-rx which is a quality engine. Top of the market and its a straight drop in process.

the 18ss engine overheats some times you just have to watch your temp but the engine isn't bad

jackedman the savage was very easy in my opinion to put together..it took me 3 weeks tho..i have school and i play sports so i dont have alot of time to spend on building it..well since the football seasons over i think i could have done it in 6-10 hours...becuase each day i was prolly only spending 30 minutes to an hour..on it and thats not for every day..some days i didnt get a chance to even touch it

but the instructions are the hpi usual..lol lil bit of english lot of japanese but its very easy o assemble..only reason i sld it is becuase i bought a revo 3.3 and well when i compared them i did the following

i turned as tightly as possible at about 3/4 throttle on acceleration from a dead stop..the revo hardly ever flipped while the savage tumbled quite often.
then off course i knew the revo would win in top speed but they both have great torque..the savages k4.6 is a beast on torque
then i did the high jumpers..SUPRISINGLY the savages shock shaft bent on about a 8=10 foot jump...no lie! i guess becuase it landed so hard and flat..but a shock shaft was slightly bent
the revo's a-arm cracked..so they both had cheap weaknesses there..i tried the barracade smashing backflip u see on the traxxas web site of the video...doesnt really work like they showed it lol..all i saw was revo going revo going revo broke..lol

but if u pick the savage i guarntee if u break it in right u wont have any complaints same for the revo there both awesome trucks they both have their flaws
and the price difference is very short

but in my very own opinion..the revo is well more race suitable outta the box

ok so my truck started making this clanking sound and i cant figure out what it is, im pretty sure its coming from the engine, i put a different pipe on to see if it was that and it still made the sound.it sounds like there is a little piece of metal inside of the engine bouncing around so i took the backplate off and i didnt see anything inside and then i took off the plug and still didnt see anything. does any body know what it might be???????????????

Had some time on my hands so I decided to mount a HellFire Rear wing to the MT2. Haven't had a chance to run yet, so don't really know how it will behave, but it looks cool.
