I have never run a 2 speed and really have no need for one and can only go by what others that have say. If you keep all 4 wheels on the ground it is OK but if you do jumps this is where the problem lies. Like I said HPI use to make a 2 speed just for the MT but discontinued it do to these problems.

No problem.

Now what about pipe, I think what i may like better on mine is a single chamber pipe. Any suggestions? Supposedly the stock pipe on my G3.0 is dual chamber. I like the snap and mid gain of a single for what i do.

Does not say how many chambers this pipe is but you might call HPI and ask them.

They are really pushing the 2 and now 3 chamber pipes do to noise. A lot of the sanction racing are getting real sticky about this. More so over seas! I use to run this pipe and it worked quite well.

I now have an OS pipe, which OS recommend for their TZ I am running but it has been discontinued. But it is a 2-chamber pipe. Matter of fact I have not run my MT since I installed it. Now that the main racing season is over for 2007 I need to play around with my MT as it has been months.

One bad thing about the Associated pipe is the pressure hole is not in the best location for the MT. It is the same pipe rcnz runs.

To add my two cents: I've been using the stock pipe used with 3.0 and 18SS+ and it has worked out really nice with my OS 18.

Thanks for the additional info on the stock engine. I am new to nitro so the most user friendly to start off with is good for me. I plan on taking my time in building the kit (technically it's my x-mas present from my wife) so I have some time before I install the engine.

Anyone have any recommended servos? I was looking at a Futaba FM system with the 3003 servos but they seem to be too tall for the kit. Their height is 36 mm and the kit states 29 mm max.

Thanks

I know i need to change the GP but the G3.0 pipe has not impressed me so far.

46 that evo pipe is a single chamber. I emailed HPI CS and that was their response. Thanks

muck76 that was the pipe I was going to try but when they discontinued the OS pipe the price dropped from $70 to $30 When I got it do to the idiots at Tower Hobbies it had a dent in it do to being in nothing but a mailer and they refunded my money and let me keep the pipe. I plugged the pipe filled it will water and froze it and got 90% or better of the dent out. So I figure not bad for free.

heck no, that is a great deal. Nice job on freezing it. i have heard of doing that but i have not seen before and after pics.

Maybe i should have done that with this one..... the pic does it absolutly no justice as to how smushed it was... it was half the thickness of new...

I have done pipes that where not quite that bad and freezing helped. The biggest thing about freezing is to get it capped off real well and fill as full as you can with water. This is an old trick I have been doing on motorcycles gas tanks for 35 plus year. Now you do have to make sure you do not bust the pipe or tank and do it while you are at home to keep and eye on it. I some times have to repeat the process.

Hey guys, I really want a new body for my mt2 but I want a muscle car look. Do you think I'd be able to mount a savage Hemi Cuda body on the mt2? Anyone got any pics of a MT2 with a muscle car body?? Anyway thanks in advance.

46u - did you do any fuel tank mods on your Sav? I've just ordered an Ofna tank for mine as I am finding the half-lean issue quite a problem with the 160cc stock tank.
One other Q - did you run sway bars on your MT2? Its kind of the last thing I haven't got on mine and was just wondering if its worth the price?

To be quite honest, it would look a bit ridiculous though. I have a Savage and the body is massive compared to the MT2's body.

Better off checking out Proline's range for 1:10 scale:

I have well over 9 plus gallons on my Savage and the half lean problems have never been a big problem. I adjust it at half tank and when it is full it is somewhat rich but not all that bad. Yes I can tell but not bad enough to go to a smaller tank. Even thaw I have not raced it in a year a few cc can make a difference between winning or coming second.

No I have never run sway bars on my MT. I do run them on my buggy.

The Savage car bodies are not quite as big and do not look all that bad like the Savage truck body would. Like I said there are pictures somewhere in this LONG thread. You can make just about any body work but what it will look like after done will remain to be seen. How about the new Savage body?

Well I really am set on a muscle car look...so the proline bodies are out. Perhaps my LHS will let me "test fit" the Savage body so that I can see whether it can be done and still look good.
