To:Anyone with an mt2 18ss kit. Have you ever had problems with your slipper clutch? Either tightening itself or drilling itself through the spur gear? Any one who has, please tell me the solution to the problem. I have asked many other people and they have not had any problems. I think it is just a defective slipper clutch.

I made some DIY heavy duty knuckles today, as I can't bring myself to pay £20 for alu ones. I melted a nut into the plastic where each of the two bolts go into the upright, on the inside, so you can tighten them properly now, and hopefully they won't pull out!

Anyone got any advise on my handling problem? Rolls really easy on grass taking a corner, even with no spacers.

Every one talks about the screws coming out of the knuckles. In a gallon and a half I have never had that problem.

Not sure about the springs, but I went down to the local bicycle repairshop and asked for some grease. He did not have any on tube, so he gave me a handful of his own copper grease for free. Copper grease is some of the best which is good for high temperatures.

You have to watch out, as some grease will really mess up plastic. I know about this from fooling with model trains.

True... I just talked with a friend of mine who into motorbikes. He said that the grease has to be acid free.

As most know a lot of petroleum products have an adverse effect on plastic. I make my living working on motorcycles for over 30 years. On motorcycles there is not anything I know you lube that is plastic. Not to say there is not but I have not seen it yet. There are a couple of nylon items like pedal bushings and the throttle sleeve. The way I have all ways looked at it you use the right product for the correct application.

I don't think there are any plastic parts on motorcycles that you lube.. he told me that I should stay clear of grease containing acid, and it should be fine.

Those diff springs probably go behind the smaller bevels and push them to bind them with the other larger bevel gears. That's the only way I see it working.

they go in between them to push then towards the diff case and create more drag and les motion

Hi everyone!

Once i was worried about torque of 18ss engine. I still was able to blow my rear diff[:@]
Now my diff is repaired, two teeth was missing. I allso sealed rear diff with silicone and put 5000wt silicone oils in.

Maybe this diff problem was caused by too tight slipper clutch (???) Anyway i adjusted it again, it can't be set any "looser" than it is now. Still it needs quite much pressure when i roll spur gear with my finger to make it slip (tyres allmost slip on the floor before slipper does slip).

Anyway, let's see if my diffs can handle THIS

Engine and new tuned pipe (and new tyres) was mounted yesterday. Break in is still in in progress - i have not really leaned it out yet... but what i can allready tell you is this thing really flies!!! 2.1HP and massive torque.... wow.

This (thunder tiger pro .21) engine has "E-start" system (with cordless drill). I broke my 18ss pullstarter (as you can see at the picture i posted), i will not have that kind of problems anymore, heh!
18ss engine will be mounted to my another car someday in the future.

-Nothing beats cubic inches-

Just wondering if anyone has tried upgrading their high performance air filter. 10 minutes at a dusty track and it's full of dirt and engine wont start. I noticed 1/8 MT/Buggy drivers had significantly larger air filters, compared to those the air filter volume for MT2 seems rediculous - even considering the engine size.

I bought a cheap car washing sponge from a local hardware store, which I simply cut into cubes and dug a hole in them so they'd fit around the airfilter. It seems to help quite a bit - the airfilter does not get as dirty as before and allows me to drive much longer in very dusty environments. I'm not sure if it affects performance yet.

Guys, sorry for a dumb question.....but is the motor saver (sp?) air filter the same as the HPI high perf filter? If not, which is better? thanks! went for a run at the local open field and kinda felt the urge for more power![:@] Also, what do ya'll think of sway bars or stabilizers? not sure what to call em and does HPI have them?

Thanks!

Can anyone tell me if the savage dual disk brake conversion kit will work on my MT2 188 SS kit? The stock brakes really are as bad as the savage.
Thanks in advance
