Which will be the best car for not racing but driving around and not having really dumb stuff done to it. I want some speed and some durability and a reaonable price. As the Nitro Evader is cheaper it also has the 1 up on the rc10gt so unless u people really speak highly of the rc10gt i will go with the nitro evader [8D].
And here are my cars to show what im upgrading from

If you're planning on racing, take the RC10gt.
For bashing the choice is not as clear. I personally chose the evader for a few reasons. It (arguably) comes with a better radio (75mhz futaba). It has the stress-tech warranty (Plastic parts are replaced free for 1 year). It is cheaper (but not by much now). It is also likely faster out of the box.
The gt has a reputation for being more durable (although i haven't broken a part on my evader yet). It has fantastic aftermarket part support. It makes a more competive racer.
Another thing to consider would be local hobby shop part support. Do they have replacement parts for the truck you want? Stress-tech on the evader will get you up and running eventually, but it's definitely quicker to buy from the lhs and keep the stress-tech replacement as a spare when it comes in.
good luck with your choice, i don't think you can go wrong.

The radio with the evader is actually a 27 mhz futaba and it is pretty crappy but so is the rc10gt radio plus i don;t really think it matters as he has a computer radio to put in.

i would go with the RC10GT, its a very nice and durable truck, speed a bit over 40, has tons of aftermarket parts, and that radio you have, its not expensive, i have the exact same think and it only cost 90

I like the HPI MT also. I had an Evader and broke a couple pieces by just hitting small bumps. My RC10 gt has not broke yet but see it breaking with a pretty good bump and my HPi MT never broke and has hit 30 foot jumps and no breakage. It is also 4 wheel drive so it is easier to handle and goes over grass and most other surfaces better

Green evader, channel 62 - 75.430 MHz
Yellow evader, channel 70 - 75.590 MHz
Maybe something has changed since you got yours.
And as for durability of the evader, i haven't run into anything yet, but i have cartwheeled at full speed a few times without any damage. Maybe something has changed there too. With an rc10gt you won't be getting a free replacement when you eventually do break something.
I won't say the evader is a better truck than the rc10gt, that would be silly. The rc10gt IS a better truck. But i do believe the evader is a better value for backyard bashing.

If your going to race which as you stated you wont be but if you change your mind go rc10gt but if your gonna bash go evader but if you get either you will be happy because both are great highly reputable upgradeable trucks.

Here is a frequency chart for RC. It is for Canada, but i'm fairly sure it is the same across North America.

I have two nitro evaders, from two different sources (tower hobbies, and lhs), and they both came with 75mhz radios.
I'm trying to upload an image here, in case there is any doubt.
