i have used a paper clip on a MGT for a TEMP fix. wouldn't leave it there long though. It takes a little trimming to make sure that everything clears.

Ok, I hope you have a little extra rod on the end of your brake linkage, because the stock linkage rod fits in there PERFECT. I have rebuilt about 5 CV shafts with homemade pins from that linkage rod, and they all worked fine.

It would be a good idea to pick up a stock linkage set to chop up for extra pins. I always carry two precut pins with me wherever I go, just in case I lose one.

You can go back to watching TV now, lol.

When you put it back together, use red loctite on the set screw and get it good and tight. Then get some heat shrink tubing and make a boot around the cup to hold the pin in of the set screw backs out any.

Tighten the screw, the original fell out because the screw backed out a little bit.

I dremeled a body clip down to size then used duct tape, I'm sure heat shrink tape would work better though.

Duratrax has redesigned their dogbones! I kept on snapping mine due to the torque of the .18cvr but the new dogbones no longer have the hemispherical connections. They switched to a prong-like connection for strength.

Yay, no more broken dogbones for me!!!!!

I know this is not an HPI but on HPI web site what they say is to grind a small flat spot where the allen screw seats on the pin. I know it helps as I was had trouble with the pins falling out of my MPI CV on my HPI MT Racer and I ground a little flat and it works a lot better. Yes and use loctite!

The RC10gt cvd rebuild kit fits with a little work. You have to work them around in the holes so that that move freely in them though.

Could you elaborate on that one a bit? I don't really understand what part of it that they changed. I just bought a new set of of them because I snapped both of my rear ones at the joint. Are you sure you just didn't buy the universal axles made for the non-pro electric Evader ST? That's what it sounds like you are describing.[&:]

Also, 46u has a great idea there. I do the same thing and never have any problems with pins falling out.

Won't do any good. The pin rotates in the cup as the entire assembly turns, it's parts of the mechanism that lets the CVD work at various angles. The first time you drive it it'll just break the superglue.
