I promise I will be layin down some vader whoop @$$ with it once I get the OS on there[sm=punching.gif]. I was wonderin, how did you get the anodize off the alum? I know that stuff can be real tuff to get off, I love the blue but I have to say, the look of virgin alum. is pretty sweet also.

I put it in a zip lock bag and sprayed it down with EZ Off oven cleaner. It took about 15 mins. to work. After that I took a brillo pad to it and then polished with Mothers. The Mothers will help protect it from getting that dull color and it makes clean up easier.

Hey, if you need another front bumper just let me know, I have access to a plasma cutter now

Why are you going for looks?[&:]
Please don`t tell me you`re using it as a shelf queen[]
Pay the extra 10 bucks and get the O.S. .18 CR-VX

im not planning on shelfing it but i just want something that dosent have too much power seeing as how i can barely control it as it sits now, and i just always wanted a cooling head that looks like that, but the main reason i want it is because the os .18 i know would have too much power for me to handle i've only been in nitro for around 4 months had a 2 wd truck for 3 weeks so once i get the .15 dialed in then i'll go bigger!

The rotary carb should go right in, that's what the stock DTX motor is.

I think we all felt the same way runnin our first nitro's but beleive me, with some more runnin and practice, you will be used to that power and be lookin for more The .15 is a smaller motor but still puts out a ton of power for the vader, it has more to do with getting used to the handling of the truck and becoming a better driver then the power of the motor.JMO.

The way i think of it is, more power the better, if you had to pick a big old Ford mustang, or a corola what would you pick? I think we all know..., its not all about looks... Plus when you put the cover on you wont even be able to see the cooling head that much. If you want to impress people for looks, show them some jumps or what it can really do. More power the better. I'd say go with the O.S. .18

Not too good.

Last night was tragic. I am sure many of you have seen some of my evader vids where it says I am running a SMT .15 engine? Actually, you can see it in this one.... when I was trying to blow it up.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSsrJQCUvZs&fmt=18

Well, I was racing my buddy last night at Hell's Canyon, and it was dry and dusty. The evader lawn darted, and I didn't notice that the AIR FILTER popped off! [:@] Well, another 5 laps later and who knows how much dirt went into the carb, the engine stalled. I went over to inspect and the carb venturi was caked with dirt! I went to tug on the pull started and the compression was gone. I managed to get it re-started and ran it WOT for a few more minutes, but in the end the poor little SMT died. For a cheap as hell chinese knock-off engine, it was sweet. Held an idle forever, literally, I could idle through a tank of gas, and tuning was simple and constant. I don't mind losing an engine when I am trying to blow it up (like in the vid above) but don't like losing an engine when I don't notice something like an air filter popping off. I bet I could have gotten another 2 gallons out of it. Well, it was definitely worth the $30 I payed for it, lasted through 3 winters. Just thought I would share my sorrow.
