nitro rustler
#26
Heheh, I have run a few TRX2.5s, an OS .18, and an XTM .18 in my rusty. The OS is the most powerful(but also the tightest fit), the XTM .18 is much more powerful than the 2.5(just wait till I port the sucker!), and all the TRX2.5s crapped out on me after a a gallon or two. I used to be a huge supported of the TRX 2.5, but after running different engines in my truck, I'm never going to even touch a TRX 2.5 unless it's selling for $25. It isn't really the engine that makes the rusty so fast, it is more of the FD ratio. If the X-Cellerator had the same FD ratio as the rustler, I know it would be faster.

I love my rusty, but it is definately not the fastest stock ST out there (obviously you can't include any kit models because it all depends on what they put into it), its not even the fastest RTR ST, or even the fastest traxxas ST. It's fast but not the fastest. It has a healthy stock engine, but its not the fastest or the biggest stock engine. But its still a blast

"my rusty can beat your revo after i upgrade it!!"
Ermmm, a stock Rusty should be able to out run and go faster than a stock REVO, last time I checked...

my rustler has been beaten so hard within the past 6 months, but after i rebuilt all the broken parts on it, the engine still had tons of power and torque, about the same power it had since the first day i bought it
(btw my engine has about 4 gallons runned through it right now)........now im looking for parts to make it look cool and make it stronger/lighter...and faster, haha....whats better, the traxxas blue aluminum tuned pipe, or 360 stinger? Graphite or fiberglass? i have about 100 bucks to spend! dont know what to get for my rusty! suggestions would be great......thanks!

I went with the traxxas blue aluminum tuned pipe, Its all top end but if you tune the rusty right you can stand it up even with the top end pipe on it and then ride that wheelie (my batt. box is so messed up) untill one wheel comes off the ground.
For all the rusty owners out there i would HIGHLY recomend getting the 0 degree axel cariers ($3-$5), They say the toe in on the stock -1 degree carriers make it less likely to slide which is such a load, the truck has enoufgh power to slide no matter what and the -1 carriers only help in brigging one wheel off the ground so you lose traction. The 0 degree will make it go straight and not wave from side to side on the straights as well

Well, I took out my Rusty after sitting on the shelf for 2 weeks yesterday and I was having a blast with it. It has "The Perfect Tune" Wheelies on ashpalt and grass. I can't pull the trigger all the way anymore either, if I do, it flips backwords. I found away to make it turn better too, I just haven't did it yet. I was jumping it and all, and the little thing that holds the front arms on flew off one end and now I need small e -clip. It flew off and was hanging down, and would make it do wheelies with 1/4th of throttle, lol. I had much fun, but now it's time for a mt.
