Got a new OS .12.. I'm used to purge the engine by putting my finger on the exhaust and pulling on the string... problem is with this new engine, fuel doesn't flow to the carb!
Engine runs great (still breakin it in).. but i have to purge engine by blowing on the tube that goes to the exhaust...
does anyone have this problem as well? used to have dtx 0.18 and it purged great like this.
thanks!

is the needle set rich enough? i once had the exact same problem and it was because the high speed needle was too lean, but then again you said that the engine was running well. maybe there is something blocking the fuel from entering the carb? check for debris in the fuel line or cracks that let air inside the lines.

also check your header is sealing properly to the engine block and pipe as well as that there are no cracks at the end of the compression line. replacing the compression & fuel line might help if they are old.

if you want to this is another way you can draw fuel to the carb. But it does get a little annoying after a while take off the air filter and stick yuor finger over the ovening then pull the pull start. It should take about 2 or 3 pulls to draw it from tank to carb. Just make sure no dirt gets into the carb.

yea i just blow through the pressure tube on my t maxx, im not gonna try to pull start it AND plug the exhaust at the same time, the exhaust exits out the bottom, and with the .26 i need to keep one foot on the tire or else when i pull on the string it will just flip the t maxx over, lol.

yea i used to do that with my nitro planes.. using new tubing, same fuel tank as previous engine, made a gasket for engine/manifold connection (good ol' manila folder)... so unsure if there is a leak (and where..)
Thanks!

If you don't prefer the taste of nitro exhaust, you can use a utility syringe to push air into the exhaust line.

I also use syringes then this for adding exact amounts of oil to my shocks.

Fuel can gum up the pipe as well. Can you blow into the pressure line? i.e. take off the pressure line at the tank and try to blow into the pipe. A little fuel can gum up and plug that small hole.

found it... The new tubing i installed (dubro) had an internal diameter significantly smaller than my original tubing. Although the outside diameter was the same..
put the old tubing back and it primes... interesting...
