Hey im looking to make my nitro rustler ready to race. Anyone know a cheap .12 engine thats a direct fit? And also what would be some other neccesities for racing? Ipretty much have RPMall over but is there any alluminum needed? Please send me links to the engine that would work for my nitro rustler.

For engine, you would need to see what crank the car needs. I would reccomend a Dynamite .12SPD or Dynamite Platinum .12(is your car rear exhaust or side exhaust?), or you can go with an OS .12 TR or TG. NO aluminum, that is a downgrade for racing. You NEED better tires more than anything else.

Yikes im confused now. If side exhuast means the exhuast onis on the side then yea its side. If rear means its on the side than yea its rear. Sort of common sense i thought...

Wow guys can't believe you don't know what a RE or SE engine is. The crankshaft is pointing the opposite way of the exhaust, so that is rear exhaust.

the older rusty's had the 15 side exhaust, but the newer ones have the rear exhaust 2.5 .... the 2.5 is a really good motor, the guy across the alley had a rusty and i have seen him run the same motor for 4 years now and i've seen him submerge it at least 4 time totally under water and in the lake once and it still will not keep the front end on the ground.
