I got turning on road dialed in by making the rear shocks tighter and the front looser. Still not sure if these beadlocks are good for bashing anyone else use them?

they will be fine, look at the hpi baja, they run bead locks, and i know my dads has never ripped apart. he has had them ballooned also, and they didn't release. just try them, if they blow out, try the glue type wheel.

Well i dont want to be out the 30 bucks the rims cost if they did rip apart and get damaged..... Not all bead locks are built them same. What brand does your dad run? What tire and what car?

The biggest problem I've seen with Jato's shredding tires is not putting tape on the inside of the tire. Whenever I put new wheels and tires on any R/C Car, I run a single width piece of duct tape or the really strong packing tape (with the stringy stuff in it) around the inside of the tire. This prevents ballooning thus preventing tires from shredding. I clean the inside of the tire with denatured alcohol before taping, too. I have had the glue break loose on me in the past but I didnt sand the tire or rim So now I sand the surfaces where the glue will be (bead of rim and inside edge of tire) with a dremel and sanding drum to get better glue adhesion. Never had one come apart since I started doing this.
Its not a bad idea to balance your tires, too.
my 2¢

definatly go for the tape idea. works well on my buggies, also, balancing them will help the jatos handeling at highspeeds onroad.
the tire ribrations can make shocks do funny things and even foam up your shock oil, causing exisivly loose shocks.
this is just my 0.02$ as well. i race 1/10 4wd buggies, and 1/8th 4wd buggies.
all of them are team losi, and they run like crap without balancing the tires lol

Well the tape advice sounds really good, like making radials or something, but I had already glued everything When I got the advice so it will have to be tested on my next set of tires. Balancing is on the todo list, I just did the tires and brake upgrades so I need to sell a few thing off before I can score a balancer. Thanks for the advise. I was into 1/8 buggies a few years back and my ofna is often misssed.....down right longed for.....

I tested the first tires on new non bead lock rims on my e rustler in doors on a smooth wood door laying on it's side to determin how much better the tracktion would be (it was raining so indoor had to work) They held about twice the incline that the stock jato tires held on at. However it should be noted that the jato tires were used and the proline were new. More to follow...

I tested the dirt works tires today on the Jato offroad and I thought they were much better then the stock tires, but they were nothing close to the badlands. Badlands way out performed the dirtworks for offroad bashing hands down. If I get to a track I'll test them again next to each other and post the results
