You guys think the OS .91FX would have unlimited vertical on this plane. Can't make up my mine on the .91 or the 1.08.

I too am very curious of the OS 91FX/Quest combo performance. I have a 91 NIB just waiting for a new home. I was going to put a wrap around header and pipe on there for max performance. I also have a couple old YS 91AC's that may go in the front too.

I like to 3D but also want something to dabble in pattern too.

Since I was unable to get ahold of anyone for two days and no calls were returned, I have already purchased another plane. I'll try again closer to Christmas and if your out of stock, I'll buy something somewhere else. Justs to many planes out there to pick from. This is a very small thread and there are two of us already that would have bought the 3D Quest if someone would have been there to answer the phone. If no one is taking calls, I just wonder how a person would deal with customer service if they would have a problem. Not really sure if I like that or not. With ARF's today, there is a lot of kits missing parts, instructions not being clear, quality issues, and parts being damaged. If it were me, I'd have all my calls redirected to my cell phone and not lose the first sale.

Are you guys sending your emails to: [email protected] ? The phone lines are very busy, and we are predominantly an on-line company. You can always reach us at this email address. In regards to the Quest, it is in stock, but we have a very limited quantity. We will not have a new shipment of Quest until Spring of next year. Please email me or PM me with any additional questions.

Sincerely,

Ultra-RC

Zippi,

Sorry we were not able to respond to you within your time limits. We strive to satisfy 100% of our customers, however in this industry, it is nearly impossible to satisfy everyone. Our customer service reps have been overwhelmed with calls recently due to the arrival of our new 29% Giles. When you get our voice-mail during normal business hours, it is because we are on the phone servicing other customers. Normally, all enquires are answered the same day and in most case within hours. We support every product we sell 100%. This is an on-line mail-order company. 99% of our correspondence is completed through our website and email. As far as your comment regarding arf's today, we inspect every kit out of the box, and re-pack them for our US Handlers, before ever shipping them to our customers. I can not recall the last time we had a problem with a plane missing parts. The other issues you mention do occasionally occur, but we handle them expeditiously.

In regards to the Quest, based on sales activity, we will be sold out well prior to Christmas. Based on our current production schedule, the next Quests will not arrive until next Spring. If you are interested, then contact me. If not, I understand. No problem.

Acro3D,

The OS 91FX is a great combination for the Quest. We had a proto-type with the 91FX with a tuned pipe. It had unlimited vertical performance and would perform knife-edge figure 8 loops, and excellent knife-edge square loops. Plenty of power. The 91FX brings the Quest in at a very light weight. If going with the 91FX, we would recommend mounting the servos for the Elevator under the canopy, as well as the rudder servo, and receiver. The battery will need to be mounted forward in the fuse. You can achieve the proper CG without having to add additional weight. If you are interested and want additional set-up information, please email me and I will be happy to answer and questions. Thanks for your support.

Sincerely,

Ultra-RC

Thanks for all the info ULTRA-RC. Please don't think that in any way I am putting down your business. I just thought it was a little strange that no one returned my calls. I totally understand, I have never had that happen before and I was thinking maybe you have closed down or on vacation. I am going to let my better half get this one for a Christmas present so I don't know how early she will let me order it. I am planning on getting one, I just don't know how early she will let me place the order. If I mis out on the ones that are left I'll have to try and get one this spring I guess.

The Quest makes an excellent intermediate- advanced pattern ship . I have FOR Sale a mint ,used Quest with a YS 91 RTF (less RX ) or the airframe plus servos alone currently offered in the RCU Pattern Market place . Your choice ,the price is very attractive as I am moving on to a 2 meter ship.

I'm planning on getting a 3D Quest .90 and wondered if an OS 1.20 would be ok for it.

degray,

I flew an OS 120 Surpass III w/ pump in my Quest last year, flying the Sportsman sequence in Pattern. I had no power porblems at all, just had to move the battery back, behind the wing, to obtain a neutral CG, by neutral I mean, when I roll to inverted I need very little down elevator input to retain level flight.
All other installations were in the stock locations.

All in all a good combo, don't forget to strengthen the landing gear plate, as with all ARF's, absolutely no knock on this plane, I do it with every plane I buy.

Ken,
Thanks for your input on the Quest power question. I'm also planning to start competing in Sportman Class (401) and want to move up to a little larger plane (currently flying a 40-size Kaos, good in the days of non-turnaround pattern).
