Geez, that had to be a scary moment. Nice save! Chris A. mentioned something to me about limiting the throw for that reason. I guess it has happened before. Hope those shorts make it through the wash OK!

First flights for Prestige #1 were yesterday, 9 in total. Setup is an OS 1.40RX, Macs header, Aeroslave pipe, Lockhart re-pitched APC 15.75x10-3. 8411SA's, JR R2000, dual TP 2S730 bateries and dual ALR5 programmable regulators. Weight is 9.32 lbs.
Winds for most of the day were in the 15mph range, but fairly steady 'n smooth most of the time. First off, it's a great flying airplane overall. I have a few adjustments to make to get rid of a belly tuck and adverse roll with left rudder in knife edge. Right rudder has virtually no roll and needed a couple pct of up mix to track. I have some stab alignment issues to correct which should clear hopefully clear this up.
Engine thrust angles seem to be pretty much right on the money. It doesn't seem to need any of the typical down elev to idle mix for vertical downlines and the uplines are dead straight. Snaps are very good. Snaps and spins stop on a dime. Vertical penetration is just great and the brakes are good too. I have to stop using so much throttle every time I point the airplane up. I have some engine adjustments to do and can hopefully get the low end down more to further improve the braking, but it's better than anything else I've had to date as it is.
I couldn't get a decent spin entry at first, and found that I was leaning on left rudder very hard to keep it straight. Eventually figured out it was me, not the airplane. I just had it up too high where I couldn't see it properly and was getting it out of sorts because of that. Once I brought it lower to a normal height and could see it well, breaks and autorotation with just elevator & rudder input went fine. Once though, it dished out of a fully developed spin right without any change in controls from me. It just stopped rotating and mushed out. Only did it once, maybe it was a gust that swatted it out, I don't know, but it has me wondering a little bit. That particular spin was flatter than the others, I know that.
Anyhow, it's a great flyer with just a few things to work out. I really like how low the rudder workload is in slow and point rolls. There's alot to be said for extreme light weight and increased fuselage area.

Congrats NJ. 9 flights, man my concentration level just can't do that.
I still really like mine. I have had to continue to add weight to handle our 25mph winds. 9 0z on the wing tube along with Nicads 5 cell battery changed out from the original NmHD.
I still have to lean on the rudder to get the reverse avalanche to snap instead of barrell roll. Spins are much better after adding the weight.
It is funny, most guys don't see the rudder style. When they do it is like, when did you change that!!

Nope, that scheme is something I did. Not sure I really like it alot though. It was supposed to look like it followed air twisting off the prop or something like that. Looks different than I thought it would when it was all done though. I think it needs some darker stuff on top for added contrast. I keep searching for something I like, which is why I have to keep building new airplanes to slap colors on. It's a dirty job, but someone's gotta do it!

Got Prestige #2 flying as of 6/30. This went together much faster then the first since it was 95% a copy of the first setup. Liking it even better than the first one so far. Needs some more fuselage trim paint, I really was in a rush to get this one flying before heading to Muncie.

I've got two Prestige's flying now and I am very pleased with them. They are both set up with an OS 1.40 RX and Aeroslave pipe and are both under 9 1/2 lbs. They handle the wind quite well and always feel very locked in. It's great for rolling maneuvers with rudder integrated in, very low workload. I like everything about it, except that the canopy and chin cowl are easy to damage if you forget how flexible they are (kevlar construction). Pics of #1 are already posted, here's a few of #2, which only took me month to do after figuring things out with #1.

Hello
Great day for a friend of mine laurent Matysiak.
He just received a big wooden box at home. Inside there is Prestige.
Huge quality of building and weight very light, 350 g one wing.
Prestige will be equiped with Yam 160 DZ. She will be totaly painted.

I am still happy with mine. Surprisingly still working out little bugs here and there.
Be careful with that carbon fiber gap seal, it will pop out and bad things happen if that happens in the air. Only set your throws enough so it will stay in the gap>
Have fun. Will wait for more picts.

Hello Ed
Thanks for your advices. I translated them to Laurent.
See comparaison between Oxalys's wing and Prestige's wing. Red is Prestige and blue is Oxalys
