Default CA HINGES

Hello!, Happy New Year!

Please can anyone tell me results on using CA hinges on 2m ships, do they hold?, weight saving?

I´ve always used DU-BRO Hinges, but i think I can save a little weight, and the CA Hinges are a lot easier to install.

I just changed out from metal hinges on my Exceleron to CA.

CA hinges are just fine properly installed, they will last a very long time.

There are a lot of opinions out there,

I like CA higes but use only the heavy duty ones sold at Radio South. Been in my plane for about two years with no problems.

Ditto...Radio South Pro Hinges are the only way to go. They are just little blue rectangles, no fancy corners or slots or nothing, but are tough as nails.

Been using them for years. After a mishap last year with my Eclipse and the ground the hinges were intact and pulled wood from the structure. I have never had any prblems using them.

Been using the Radio South sense the 80's with no problems, the only thing I would add is use fresh new thin CA.

Great Plane Ca hinges I've seen seperate or delaminate the Radio south is the best there is and the original ca hinge. Your taking chances with anything else.

A quick test of CA hinges is to grasp one with two pliers butted together in the center - then pry the pliers against each other to attempt to tear the hinge. Many will tear easily (Radio South Pro Hinges won't).
