Todd,
The contest is Feb 23 and 24, 2007. It will be held at the Sun Valley fliers club in north Phoenix. Below is the link to the club. The CD is Rusty Fried. Hope to see you there.

I'm planning on coming out.

So does anyone have any info on where we can ship the planes if we're flying in?

Thanks,
-Mike

We are planning on going, but don't have any real info yet on hotels or shipping. Just spoke with Rusty Dose about the info and he said it would be coming soon from the CD.

Todd and Mike,

Guys if you are looking to ship and need an address my house is available along with the attached shop.

Just shoot me an email and I'll do what I can. I live about 30-45mins away from the field.

Let me know

Troy

Well, let's just make it even simpler...... let's all fly Troy's planes. No shipping, bet he would even supply the fuel and TXs!!! ;-)))

Don,

do you need to borrow and airplane?

We can work out a lend lease program.

Thanks Troy,
But if I can make it I will drive out. I can fit both planes in the truck and get all support equipment.
Is there outlets at the field for charging, I don't want to carry the generator if I don't need to.

No at field outlets, but I have a little generator that can make due for a couple of 10S packs a time and I know Rusty has his Generator and I think it will handle (3) 10S packs at a time. We did that last summer when I was on Flower Power.

I think we can cover you.

Todd,

We need to hook up. I"m seriously considering going as well as Paul...with our truck and trailer we can comfortably haul 6 pattern ships and all equipment and 4 can ride very comfortably..might make life easier if we all went together. i'll know more in a week or two if our class schedule is going to permit us to go..

Todd and Arch:

I also am planning on driving. Todd if we got together and I pulled your trailer, we could probably get half of D6 out there. Hotels are probably going to be expensive in Phoenix that time of year, but we could save on gas. If that doesn't work maybe I could meet Arch and crew somewhere in west TX.

If any of the Houston area guys are thinking about going contact me, we could easily rent a trailer and get out there.

Hoss,
Here is what we use it works very well. I also use this setup on my 40%
so that shows how strong it is.

Pilots traveling to Phoenix,

Many of you know I have been working on setting up a ADHOC training/F3A Team practice session to be held the week prior to the fine event run by Rusty Fried and company. I have had a number of pilots, premier judges and coaches indicate they are interested and are planning to attend.

I personally will be traveling from the frigid north (via RV) and arrive by Sunday afternoon (2/18). My goal is to fly from dawn to dusk all week. As advertised, I will have a trailer full of models for qualified pilots to fly including a CHP Scandalous (DZ powered), Oxai-Beryll (Hacker Comp powered), Piedmont Focus II ARF (DZ powered) and maybe...an Oxai-Zeque (DZ powered).

At a minimum, Dave Guerin and I will be available all week...Dave for the real information on trimming, set-up and I will focus on the listening and acting as your "Cruise Director". Additional individuals who have expressed a significant interest include (in no particular order): Troy Newman (Troy's home field), Rusty Fried (fantastic coach and judge and his home field), Tom Miller (Don Lowe Masters chief judge), Arch Stafford, Sean McMurtry, Chip Hyde, Bill Cunningham, Mike Hester, Mike and Brett Wickizer, Rich Verano (YS Performance) and others...

The experience Dave Guerin and I had in 2006 with our high-end preciion aerobatic clinics indicates that "if" top pilots and coaches attend, they will be a catalyst for sharing their knowledge and experience. Of particular popularity is something I called a team critique. A pilot flies his/her sequence surrounded by critiquers (not judges giving a numeric score) who have made notes and scribbles on call sheets which have drawings of the various manuevers. Immediately upon landing, the pilot listens to sincere and genuine feedback and has the written information to study and reflect. For example, I had the opportunity to fly the P-07 sequence in front of Don Szczur, Dave Lockhart, Dean Pappas and Matt Kabajian last Spring in SC (chance of a lifetime)...their feedback gave me specific items to work on including lines, radii, speed, geometry...everything!

Please feel free to call me with any specific comments or requests. My office (800) 876-7741, may be the least expensive and simplest, outside of this forum.
