Hola Enrique,

Saludos

Apereira,
Your plane looks beautiful. Some info please. What is the incidence for the wings and stab. Servos for the elevater, is it going to be deps, bellcrank or two servos in the elevators.
Thank you.

Some pictures of the airplane and assembly. Here is the installation of the MK bellcrank, I used this method because the rudder post is already installed and painted, very easy to do with masking tape. Note that after the bases with bearings are installed I just used a Allen ball driver to catch the bellcrank, then using the same slided in the outer horns. Also shown the holes made for the wing attachment, the installed dowel under the covering is easily visible, just drill the first hole for the 4-40 bolt then a little recess over the same bolt for the bolt head.

Here are pictures of the servos, I used only one 8411 for the elevator and the CH carbon rods with titanimu ends 3/16" dia., I laminated the ply bases with CF, also shown similar method to get the rudder cables installed.

Looks very nice, what is the final weight of the model with the YS-160 DZ etc?
The wings are not composite, typical foam construction covered with Monokote, right?
Thanks,
Nikos

I didn't weight the airplane, it is very light, I ran to the field when I finished the model.
Wings are foam sheeted with balsa, covered in Oracover, very well done. The Deluxe version is all painted and Carbon/Kevlar fuselage.
The fuselage paint is outstanding and very light.

I got the big one, but did not measured the fuselage right, it was around 3am I think, easy to fix, but I just put stickers so I could fly that weekend, but I left on a business trip[&o], it was compressing the fuselage a little bit and I did not wanted to have any stress in the structure.

We, Cerebus, just received our stock of Osmose planes. They look very good. The paint job is fantastic and the plane is big and very light.
One question: Who has got a manual for the plane. I went through all the boxes and none of them had a builders manual. Not to bad for those who got an ARF, but the guys with kits want a manual. Who can help?

I finally flew the Osmose, the aircraft has been ready for a month waiting for this.
On the takeoff I needed two clicks down elevator, turned right and parallel to the runway performed two opposite slow rolls (I neede to start right away jeje), the were very good with very little input and straight, that was goooooood.
This airplane has very little or no coupling at all, following the setup.
CG 1cm behind the wig tube ( as Marcelo recommended and that's it,no changes for me)
Rudd to Elev mix L Rudd 1% down elev (this might change after adjustments on the elevator travel)
Thr to Rud Idle L rudd 1% max power R rudd 2%
Aileron differencial 3% (still checking)
Wind is confusing some times if it is not steady, the rud to elev was done with almost no wind, on the fourth flight and on I did not make any more adjustments because it got very windy.
The T canalizer seems to work fine, as the roll tracking is good and needed very little rudder, even knife edge was done at half power and around 20% rudder.
Snaps are very precise but I still to adjust the travels yet, I have to much elevator, but I hate using the switch, I guess I will have to use it to be consistent due to my way of flying with the elevator throw. I did not change much, but it is a bit sensitive on the elevator in respect with the rest, but that is due to the aft CG anyway, it's a matter of adjustment.
Very forgiving landings, first landing was a very soft 3 point, the fourth the tail whell landed and rolled about 10 feet before the mains did, we have a good runway for that, so I do not know if the gear is strong or not, anyway almost anybody can do a soft landing on a good pattern ship these days.
The YS 160 and the APC 15x12.5 4 blade was not a good setup for the field elevation close to 5000', the APC 17x12 was a good choice, I will still try 10 and 13 pitch, I used Cool Power 30% high performance heli, with excelents results, I also used a velocity staker but I will remove it, I don't think the engine was performing at max power, I got 7800RPM with that set up.
The MK bellcrank was very smooth, I haven't use a single elev servo since I flew my Finess, but anyway I have the Elev to Flap mix set up just in case something goes wrong with the elev servo. (hope not, the 8411 I first installed had a little jittering on some points[
], so installed another one and will send this one to Horizon (brand new by the way).
The airplane is very responsive, I only flew with low rates of the three I have, I will reduce the travel mechanically to get most resolution out of the servos, now that I know how much travel I need.
I don't know if it was me or the T canalizer, but the aircraft will not stall turn without power, it tends to tail slide, but with a little power (reducing power to about 4 clicks) it does a beautifull stall turn, and I did not needed to keep the rudder in after the manouver, the T canalizer seems to add the stability, I just needed to get used to it, after so many years doing it that way.......
Airplanes fly the way the were put toguether and set up, but I think with basic knowledge it will fly the way is intended.
A lot more flying will be needed to see if I really need to change something, but servo travel will be the first thing to do.
Oh, the only thing, glue the stab forward bar, I did not do it and elongated the hole, I noticed that on the fifh flight[sm=confused_smile.gif]
I will post more information after some more flights.
Regards
Alejandro

No, it isthe ARF, the Deluxe should be here soon, but the ARF quality is outstanding, of course the deluxe being painted should be awesome, I'll comment when I get it.
