CPLR new plane OSMOSE
#176
Well, I got to fly it again bit at sea level this time, and it feels different, after removing the Velocity Stack it became a different motor, unlimited vertical at just above half power, so the 160 is more thatn enogh fr this ship, I will try the 170 whenever I can get one, but really not needed in this conditions.
I also have to remove the THR-RUD mix, really not much improvement, and once you touch the rudder it stays in that path, so only 1% down elve on right rudder is needed.
I'm finally getting used to it, and keep reducing elevator throw and adding more expo on the rudder.
Regards

Hi Peter I see you have been looking for the manual . A friend and myself have recently bought the kit version from Peter ......and yes we would like to have a manual to build the kit !!
I find it strange that a company such as CPLR , that appears to have a good reputation can not come up with the manual ....in my books CPLR you dont score too high!! . As Peter has already requested , can anyone please help ?

Marcelo had been out of the factory for some time and is busy getting back into work again. I'm sure it not long now and I'll have the manual. I'll put it on my web site and post a link then.

These types of plane do not need a manual.
There is to many different equipment you can use on it
Everyone uses different building techniques
Let someone that has build a couple of F3A planes help you

Walter that is true, but its hard to sell a plane to a pattern guy who has never built a plane like this before if you don't have a manual with some reference points. I know that some of the guys built these planes in their sleep but others just need a couple more pointers.
I've not looked at the kit's wings, what needs to be done there?
Some flight data: CG 10mm behind the wing tube. Incidence of stab is 0, wing is 1/4 deg positive

I think a manual is always a must. No matter how much experience you have building models, you need, as Peter said, some reference points. Each model is made different, so, a guideline for the specific model is very useful. I got an Impact and it helped me a lot the good manual provided by Carf, It has many pictures and a picture says more than a thousand of words. There are particular points inherent to each model that the manufacturer should point out in a manual in order to achieve the best results when assembling the model. I hope Camodel will come up soon with a nice manual for the Osmose, I guess the Osmose will be a good seller. Do not forget that CPLR is not the manufacturer, he is only the designer !.

Hi Peter
The Osmose is very similar to the Genesis. What we can do is take the Genesis manual and change it and add a lot of photos. Wright on a CD and distribute

Hi Peter , Walter and Enrique , thanks for the replies . Sorry for the late reply , I have been out the office for a few days , only back yesterday and did not have time to look at the responses . I agree with Enrique . No matter how many patterships you have build a good manual is important and helpful . I think I may have put together more scratchbuild planes in my 30 odd years of flying than most people (started when I was apprx 14 ) with planes build from scratch ( including making the moulds ) for planes such as the Dirty Birdie , UFO, Curare and Phoenix 8 . Having a manual ( or at least some basic guidelines) creates a good impression of the producer and gives the builder some guideline from where you can decide to do it the building manual way or your own . I see my friend Roly has started a new thread to which there has been very helpfull responses - will track the tips and hints from there . Thanks again !

All I am saying is that you should not say that it is a bad plane or design because there is no manual and yes you still need the basics like CG .That is why RCU is useful, now you can see different pics of different builds.[&:]

Hallo Rune,
it's a glass fuse, not the carbon/kevlar version. I was really shocked, when i opened the box... I think 100g of filler will not be enough - the complete surface of the fuse is in this way!
Really bad about the fuse. The weight would be really good for this big ship.

Hello Wolfgang
I was very interested to buy this new CPLR model but the fuse is awful compared to ZN's fuses that they are real mirrors !!! Do you have some pics of the wings ?
I think I will keep my ZN integral and buy another one !
thanks

Wolfgang what was the production number of your model?
We have numbers above 1940 here in South Africa and the fuse does not look like that. Very smooth.

Hallo Peter,
ProductionNumber is 833. Nice that you have Productionnumbers, where the surface is very smooth.
For me it cost's me only a lot of money and time to send this kit back...

Irrespective of the production number the quality of the fuse shown in the photos is disgusting. Probably the worst I have seen. It shows this company has obviously no quality control what so ever. I would be personally embarrased if my business produced workmanship to this standard. Thanks for the photos I am certainly never going to deal with this company.

We had to wait a long time to get our Osmose planes and the reason given was that they had production problems they had to solve. Looks like that the older fuses had a bad surface. All I can say is that the new ones are very smooth and superb quality.
Wolfgang, your supplier should take the plane back and pay for the transport, or just ship you a new fuse. I know I would.
