Chip has 2 Scandelous that he is flying this week. From everything I've heard, he is flying really well.

Not looking good this morning. Not raining yet at 06:20 but radar looks bad for the morning group (Masters and Intermediate).

Yeah, I'm in 28th place in Masters and really happy to be that high in the standings. It has been a tough season, my first round at the NATS was about my 12th full round of the new Masters pattern. Life just got in the way this year. But I'm having a great time

Getterflash,
Considering the competition at the National level and your "life in the way" That's really a good job!

The word around here is he was flying his new plane the Passport.
The other word is he drilled holes in his wing tube to get under weight and the tube failed in flight. However that is the Muncie rumor I am not sure how much truth there is to it.

The foam is used to keep the cooling airflow around the engine. I'm sure there are similar pieces of foam in the chin cowl to force the air around the cylinder.

I am very impressed with the amount of info about nats all over the web.
i can visit rcu, dave lockharts thread above and surprisingly FG is also featuring the event on the front page as well.
Hope to meet som more pilots and share some more stories...
