.............Yup, gonna try to stick a 2m pattern plane and support equipment in a Toyota Camry... That will be an adventure in and of itself....

RE: 2008 US Nationals
Here are some "rough" scores. Intermediate and Advanced scores are handled by Melissa "The Scorestress" Hester on site 4. Sorry I only fit in 11-12 places in the frame.
Masters wasn't posted when I left so here are the 2 site scores for FAI and a "total" when both lines are combined. Chad is actually in 8th place as one of his scores was a 958 not a 938.

Uncharecteristically low scores for Earl and Andre'. Mike Harrison musta had a flame out on the second round.
Excellent early showing by Dave Lockhart. This could be his year to place very high. He has been flying exceedingly well up here in the northeast.

Sorry guys, just in from practice with Joe, Ryan and Andrew and dinner. Winds in our face and COOLER temps. I won't be able to post scores tomorrow (I hope) so this is the last from me until afterwards.
Intermediate, Advanced, yesterday Masters and FAI pre-lims scores and semi's flight order...

Slight correction ... Mark Atwood firing it up for FAI. He flew quite well, but not quite well enough to make the cut to the Semi-Finals. []
We both had a good time. It was nice seeing you all again and good luck to all!

Sorry Mike- good seeing you at the NATS as well flying FAI.
This afternoon once again I was at the Intermediate line helping Joe- Some more pilot action at Site 4.
Paul Lachance with his Prestige helped him place highly in Advanced.
Jeremy Chinn' profile design drew a lot of attention. AC Glenn and Troy Newman stopped by to check it out.

... and some interesting pictures from the SITE 3 area today. CD Dave Guerin and Dale Arnold discussing the finer points of running the NATS. Things went very smooth this year, and as was announced at the NSRCA banquet last night, Dave will be CD'ing the 2011 worlds in Muncie.

No problem Don, just sticking up for my buddy Mark!
I wish I could have stayed, but duty called and I had to get back. Unfortunately I missed visiting with quite a few folks. So much anticipation ... and it's over so fast. (especially when you fail to make the semi-finals!
Again, hope everyone is doing as well as they can and gets home safely.
Pattern ROCKS!!

In case your wondering why I'm sitting here typing rather than out practicing or attending the unknown sequence meeting, or otherwise occupying myself with the competition... well I ended up 12th. Finals went through 10th place. Looking forward to that steak dinner tonight. I'll do a warmup flight tomorrow and enjoy relaxing for the evening and a good night sleep....
Some pictures of my Black Magic. Rumors of its non-completion have been greatly exagerated.... this design was a very popular one at this year's NATS. Hat's off to Mike Hester for this good flying kit.
This has been a different NATS for me. It did not take long to realize that things have changed for me- I'm found myself in a dual- fly and support role and I'll tell you that is a different experience. Any case, check out the details at the NATS NEWS section for today on the AMA site. If I collected $10 for each time someone remarked how much more Joseph talks than me, I'd pay for that Genesis he has on his Christmas list...
Later,
Don
