Default Venus 40 CG

Hi all. To those of you flying the Venus 40, where are you setting the CG? I have been flying mine at the manual's recommended location and it flies very nose heavy (hard to break ground and lands hot). I used this calculator - http://www.geistware.com/rcmodeling/cg_super_calc.htm - and determined that the manual's location is at about 24.5%. So, that explains the nose heavy qualities. I will try moving it back 1/8" or so at a time, but if anyone has already worked out an optimum location it would save me a bit of fiddling around with radio gear. Overall, I'm happy with the plane. I'm using an AX .55; it weighs 5.5lbs.

Thanks,
David

I just moved my CG back until it displayed a very gentle arc downward when pulling a 45 degree angle up and invertedsticks released. It was further back than the factor starting setting.

Thanks Gary. I will do the CG tests outlined in the NSRCA trim guide the next time I fly. In the meantime, I moved it back about 1/8" and went to a 12x5 instead of the 11x7 I was using.
