Hi Elias,

I used to fly Pattern back in the days of Currare and Blue Angels but I am trying to get back into again.......this 4 Stroke things look very appealing.
I am curently terrorising the skies with Oxalys ARF I hope one day to be good enough to fly a proper 2x2 F3A .

keep up the good work .

Yasoo

Elias,

When you decide where the best location for the stab is, will you make the stab one position instead of it being adjustable?

The airplane looks really good, and you work very fast. Great job, I can't wait to see it fly. Will you be in Portugal for the World Championships? It would be neat to see it in person.

Hallo Ryan
Yes ,I guess that maybe the second flyable plane will have the stab in one position ,
I work about 6-7 hours on the plane each day ,and that is after work witch is 9hours at least ,+the thread , some reseach for tomorrows work ,I was just studying spreadsheets of weights of different possible wing skin methods, needless to say I´m beaten theese days .Yes will be in Portugal this summer (cant wait !)It´s nice to meet you through here and looking forward to meet you there!

Hallo
Thank you guys ! ,xcead ,next step is moulding ,wait for a few days and there will be a detailed description ,but you can always check on Todd´s Defiant Mk II thread ,it´s super.
Here are some more pis of the fuse and how the canopy was cut out ,two compressed pieces of cardboard 2mm thick are more than adequate for cutting at least once

I have one question.. for the 2 piece fuselage during the snap roll maneuver will the2 piece fuselage take the pain ?? I have seen CPLR do snap roll & they are tight & very sharp....

Hallo
Yes canopy will be made out of compostie ,propably carbon ,will make a mould of it ,
thank you tuny !
During snap ,the fuselage gets more of a torsional stress during the fast roll rather than lengthwise because the stab wants to remain in it´s position ,the wing gets the most stress .This is why we can use as small as 2kilo servo on the elevator. This is my guess .Sure must be some good bonding though.

Here is some of the progress on the canopy..

Very nice work Elias! Is the canopy the finished product or is it the plug? Fit looks excellent. Your work is inspiring me to get started on a new design!!!

Hi Todd !
Thanks man ,the canopy will be used for moulding ,Pretty much the whole construction at this moment is only for moulding ,though is equipped inside with all the stuff I will have to take down egain all the primer and sand ,sand ,sand...
I change plans now and just go for the mould and the first fuse that will come out .There is a small chance I fly the proto with an ultra light setup ,but I doubt now.

New design, yea ..

dude !!!

this thing is awsome !!! and the pace at which you are a building it amazes me.
i think moulds is the right way to go. if you know how to make one ... then its just easier to pull a new one out of the mould every now and then rather than have to go through the whole wood working.

i got my plane a few days ago. the camera is out of battery ill send you a pic later

keep it up awsome design

No removable chin cowl? Is there an easy way to get to the engine compartment?

Its electric remember... there is nothing to check down there. the canopy reaches the engine from the top.

for YS powered versions I think he will....
