Default Pattern Problems

My friend was out flying his old trusted Alliance last week, whenever he started getting problems. He flew three flights before, with no problems, but on this flight, he rolled a bit, and it kept on rolling. He also said that whenever he put in an input, he got instant response, but it took a while to get back to neutral. (i.e. It kept on doing his last command for a while, before returning back), Luckily, he landed alright, and did a range check, with engine running and not running, and everything was O.K.
He had just changed over to Digital servos, and thinks that they might have drained his batteries a little fast. He is using 2 year old Duralites, and he also thinks that they might be reaching the end of their life.
He didn't fly again in case anything happened to the plane, and won't untill he replaces his batteries and receiver.
Does anyone know what the problem might have been caused by, and how to resolve it?
Thanks,
Robert.

Default Pattern Problems

Question.......on the ground with the aileron stick neutral....after an input does the servo go back to neutral??

I had two radio the had pot that rotate a bit on the gimbal giving roll but in my case it was elevator......electronically I was no longer in neutral, with a 10 X trim 0, sub trim 0, look at screen 75 it will depict the electronic position of the stick.

I found this out because also when I was setting a new plane I could not get full travel out of the servo.
