Great looking model!

What prop and batts are you using with the Hacker?

GlennO 05-08-2011 05:18 AM

RE: post some pictures of your pattern plane!!

Hi Bob,

I am using Thunder Power Pro lite V2 5000 packs. The prop is a Hatta special manufactured by Xtreme composite 19x13 wide blade.

The colour scheme is standard from the factory, however the actual colours were chosen by me at an additional cost.

The Q80 rear mount was made locally by a friend of mine as a favour - not commercially available.

I'm very happy with these planes.

cheers GlennO

ORIGINAL: mithrandir

what is the diff between a ZN-Line integral and a compy integral?
It is basically the same design but ZN also offers a "kit" version that is less prebuilt.

RE: post some pictures of your pattern plane!!

Usually ZN is lighter, COMP ARF is all composite, and ZN ara balsa wings and stabs. Comp ARF is a quicker build. The airplanes are identical.

Very nice!

Excellent weight as well, however the Temptation fuselages were very light so that's not too much of a surprise. You must be a light builder!

I'm calling this one Laser 2010 as that is when the idea for a semi scale Laser pattern airplane was conceived. It is completely scratch built, the only items that were purchased was the landing gear, wing tube and spinner. The cowl, canopy, wheel pants and tail fairing came from my molds. The wings are foam with balsa sheeting, the fuse is balsa and light ply. She has competed in her first contest where the pictures were taken.

RE: post some pictures of your pattern plane!!

Yes it is electric. My goal was to have a turn key pattern airplane that would be competitive up through advanced class for less then $1,000. The motor is a Turnigy 64mm 235KV with a Turnigy 70A speed control. The batteries are Zippy 5S 5000 MAH. The complete power package was 240.00! So Far I am very pleased with the performance. Prior to the contest she had 6 flights on it and my caller and I had only flown through the advanced sequence once. The end result was a forth out of four but I was 340 points from the first place pilot. So with more practice and tuning I think we can give some guys a run for their money.
