Jon Wold, thats a wicked colour/graphics scheme! So much more refreshing than all the french curves and nauseating multi colours in vogue.
This has a graphic IDEA! Brilliant. |
Hi Claude
I sent you a PM Regards |

I've been reviewing this thread for quite some time (yeah, started at the beginning) and after seeing all these outstanding planes with their long sleek fuselages and thin wings I thought I'd just throw in two more cents' worth.
I'm no kind of pattern flyer - have never competed and the best I've ever done in practice is novice class, and even not great at that level - but I plans-built an old pattern plane from long ago, the 1966 SIG Stratus, and thought I'd just throw it in here for "historical" interest. By today's standards I doubt she'd last even a minute in competition but a guy named Maxey Hester designed & competed with it a long time ago. She's short-coupled, thick-winged and no kind of show plane but she IS an awful lot of fun to fly. Sorry about the lousy flight shots. Cheapie camera only does so well. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2111875 http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2111876 http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2111877 http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2111878 http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2111879 STRATUS, SIG kit #RC4 from 1966 WS - 70", Length-51.5", wing area 720 sq. in., 7.8 lbs Power is an OS.60SF and she's got a basic 72MHz Futaba 4-ch radio |

Hi Claude,
According to the CB website, it looks like the Phoenix comes in a glow version? Do you know who's the designer is, & whether the price is 749.00 Euro plus shipping to US? Thanks, Adrian |

Note that the caelus isn't mine. |
Enjoy the Snapdragon Sam. You will love it. Nice shots of some of the other planes.

I got the RX installed, the cables organized, the rx battery charged, and some mild rate on all surfaces. This weekend is looking nice for a maiden.
Also I gave it 12 degrees on all surfaces for low rates and 15 for high. Since you've flown(and in part designed) the plane what do think of the rates? -Sam Oh and i didnt take the photos, my dad did. |
I would tone the rates down a little for Sportsman. 10 degrees on ailerons elevator. Then you will need high rate rudder for stall turns.

I'll set it to 10 degrees before I maiden it. For rudder I have around 20 on low and around 35 on high.
Oh I found a photo of my typhoon(before the crash) that crashed due to a bad battery connection. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2128103 It's from phoenix models. Wouldn't recommend it, wasnt very stable, somewhat heavy, and didn't fly very well. -Sam |

Hello
Maiden flights for my new Harmonie. It's an evolution2. Fuse is higher then the others. So I'm very happy with. Flight lines are very accuracy. Plane is very stable and easy to handle. Engine YS 175CDI (9% oil, 25 % nitro), propeller APC 20x10.5, weight is 5080 g.
