Thanks Ben. Will keep your advise in mind when I venture into the unknown world of the 9Z guts.

I REALLY advise against opening up your 9Z TX. The symptom yu describe fit BF/S more than pot problems. If you REALLY think it is your pots send it in to Futaba or Radio South. Let them mess with it.

Phadreus,

I am still debating with myself on that issue. Awaiting for my batt packs to ccome in so I can switch out and test to see whether this problem reoccurs. But I am sometime overly curious[X(]

Ok,, I reread the manual for the 9Z and found that you have to set the BFS throttle position as Phaedrus mentioned. Also, the receiver OR transmitter battery goes low would cause it to go inito this condition. the Rx batt going below 4.7V is enough to get this action on the throttle. Given the load at max throw, this can be a very likely situation on a 4.8v batt pack with 25mohms internal resistance. Going to the 6V batt packs with low internal resistance should take care of the issues.

thanks all

PS: If this condition still occurs I will be back posting here.

Good to hear that you don't have to send the 9Z in for service[8D]

I know a number of people who were brave enough to open their 9Z TX up. With only a few exceptions most ended up sending their radio in to have it put back together for them. Why chance it? Especially since if you are opening it up it would be because you think you have a problem. Why not get it fixed by people who deal with them every day?

Also, I believe that the low battery FS activates at 3.8 volts, not 4.7. And I have never seen, read, or heard that the TX voltage also effected this. I do know that when the TX low voltage alarm goes off you need to land ASAP!! If not sooner!!
