Well I am keeping all my present Optimal 6,7 and 9 Rx. They are supposed to work at 2048 with the A9X instead of 1028 with the A9. Since my thumbs probably have a sensitivity of maybe 1/48 I doubt that I need 4096 update rate. I will probably buy one Maxima when I upgrade to the A9X to see if I can really see any difference..

Please refer existing FG thread:
. Hitec Aurora 9X - extracts:. <snip>
. "The current system is capped at nine but we are working to expand this in the future".
:That is correct. Hitec is also working on expanding our model line so expect to see many more models available in the future that utilize this protocol.-Mike."
. It will be 4096 resolution with the Optima RX's as well. The latency is cut in half (21ms frame)when using the Optima RX's with the 9X and then cuts
it 66% more when using the Maxima (7ms) making it of of the fastest radios available.
More channels: We know... However, it wasn't an option at this time with the current platform but we are working on this for the future. - Mike.
. "Perception is a strong factor for some people. "Most" people will not notice the difference in latency and resolution but that doesn't mean they don't think they need it. However, high level pilots will benefit as it brings the performance level up to, or better, than the top radios on the market! Unfortunately we are currently limited to 9 channels but making the new radio faster with more resolution was possible so we did it... what would you all be saying if we didn't?
Damned it you do... damned if you don't I guess! - Mike.

The speed at which the radio commands are sent and the response of the receiver does not change the speed at which the servos move the control surfaces nor does it change the servo resolution.
The model is still exposed to the aerodynamic forces generated by the control surfaces rotation to produce forces (torques) to rotate the airplane around its axis, pitch, roll and yaw.

Just because you may not believe that is so, does not make it a fact.

Why would I need more power? I can fly a 40 size model to a range where it is almost a dot and at the extreme limits of my eyeballs with no system performance issues.

Does it have the trainer switch on the left now? My A9 has it on the right which is awful. Other than that I'm pretty happy with my A9. I can tell it's a little slow latency wise but it doesn't bother me in the way I fly. I'm holding out for the A12,,,then I'm all in.

Jim,
Sorry, But it was sold to me from Hitec.[
I am a sponsored pilot with them. I am the only one on the
Hitec Team that flies jets.

Bill,
Its still on the right side. I took the back off and just moved it to the left.[
No, A12 coming out that I know of for at least 4 years or so....
You can easily tell when you put them together!

Steve,
On that note..... I would be looking at the Optic 7 PRO!
You have everything you need at a really good price!
Holds 16 models and 3 different models.

Hi AT,
Dropped my Aurora 9 last week and broke it so this morning picked a 9X. I might be going crazy but there doesn't appear to be any Rudder to Elevator mix so I can mix out my knife-edge coupling. Aileron to Rudder (page 1) and there's also a Rudder to Aileron (page 2). That doesn't make any sense... Also there's something called "KnifeMix" (page 2) so I thought - well, that's obviously what I need but the sub menu has Aileron to Elevator!! OK, so either I am crazy or it's HItec. Please tell me why I'm crazy :-)
Also, hasn't someone proof read the manual after all this time - it has a number of typos and very bad english... That's not very good attention to detail from Hitec.
Thanks for any help!
best
