I would've posted this in the HItec forum, but mike is out for another 5 days, and this can't wait.
So 2 days ago I recieved my brand spankin new Eclipse 7 from Tower Hobbies. It's the new QPCM version, I was very happy. I let it charge over night so I could play with it.
The following day I start setting up my planes, the first one seemed to go fine, Older futaba reciever on Ch 42, got it configured and tested the movements standing next to it. Next I moved to my OMP edge, it was setup with a simple Focus 4 rig, with RCD3500? supreme 7 reciever Ch 20. I changed from a y harness on the wing to each servo getting it's own channel (1 and 6). Immediatly when I turned the plane on and the radio I noticed the servos sounded different, almost buzzing. I take the edge outside and range check it and it's glitching like crazy. In my other hand I hold the Focus 4 TX that the planes used to use, then I try it, glitches go away.
I proceeded to try this with my first plane also, did a range check, servos start buzzing the further I get away, then go nuts at 30 paces. Turn off the Eclipse, turn on the regular TX I used (Futaba Conquest) No glitches or buzzing.
Just to make sure I grab yet another plane with a supreme 7 reciever and test it. SAME thing. With my edge reciever I could be standing next the plane and it would glitch.
Obivously this isn't working correctly, my house is in a woods, so it is possible the trees could get doing something to the signal I suppose, but the radio and plane had clear Line of sight. I will also mention these recievers have never previously glitched either. I'm going to take my first plane and the edge to the flying field tonight and see what happens, if they still do it I'll be returning it to tower as defective/damaged for a new one.
What do you guys think?

This is just a guess. You may also want to make sure your shift setting in the radio (neg or pos) matches the receiver.
If you figure it out please post the solution. I'm thinking about upgrading my Eclipse 7 with the QPCM software.

Unfortunetly you are describing a problem that may be related to a bad Eclipse 7. We can't help you there -- you need to bring it to Hitec's attention.
Hitec's service is usually very good and punctual. An alternative is to send it back to Tower for replacement.

I believe part of the problem is that you're sending PCM signals to a PPm receiver... maybe get on the horn and give Hitec a call...sometimes person to person is better than email

My experience is mixing PCM and PPM means nothing happens. Your "buzzing" and glitching is not at all like my absolutely steady eclipse/spectra with 3500, 3200 and airtronics receivers. It is rock steady. You may have a problem in the transmitter.

When checking the Shift I also made sure it was set on PPM mode, I'm 100% certain it is correct. The setup is correct, I've verified it with fellow flyers tonight.
After a night at the field, I ranged checked my spad (1st plane I refered too) and got glitches from 100ft away at certain positions. With the antenea extended, they went away. I went ahead and flew it for about 10 minutes with no noticeable problems. The battery pack on my edge went out tonight, so I didn't even get to reliably check it.
A person I fly with let me program on his airtronics setup. He walked out with his TX and range checked, nothing at all, no glitches, I walk out with mine and get a glitch ever so often. I cannot fly one of my good planes with confidence when I turn the old TX on and get totally different results. Even with the low battery on my Edge, my focus 4 made no servo ticking noises, with the eclipse they ALL start buzzing very faintly.
After some inspection of the Eclipse 7 box it has a very noticeable dent in the side that continues to the foam and is also on the side of the cardboard box, I suspect fedex might have dropped the package.
Tommorow I'll post results of the OMP edge range check.

Well, here it is 1 month later and I have recieved my radio back from Hitec. The Repair order had two words written next to the "Problem" field. They read "BAD MODULE". It was my spectra module that had caused the problem. I now have a new one and initial test look like that was infact the problem. My servos are now rock solid, no "humming".
Kudos to hitec for returning everything including my TX case in tip top shape, and doing so in a fair amount of time.
Shame on Tower Hobbies for the way they handled the situation. I held my toung complaining about them until I was sure my radio was actually broke, but I did infact call them FIRST before hitec with the intent on asking for a new radio. A very simple EXCHANGE is all I wanted. I recieved a broken product right out of the box and Tower refused to do anything about it. I even had evidence of damage straight from Tower Hobbies themselves. After taking an even closer look at the box, I don't think Fedex did a thing but the Eclipse box had a large dent in it that followed through the foam. This tells me the damage happened before it was packaged. The Lady told me it was a "warranty Issue" and it was Hitecs problem now.
I sent Tower Hobbies a nice long compaint about their return policy seeing that the lady I talked to couldn't do anything for me. Few weeks later Linda called from tower and left me a message on the machine to call her back in regards to my radio problems. At that point my radio is at Hitecs service center, I've already lost the $15 I saved buying from Tower instead of Servo City because of the shipping charges to Hitec Service, and frankly nothing she had to say could fix the situation, they blew it already. So I didn't call her back.
Oh well, I have a working radio now and I'm happy.
