I remember going down to St. Croix in the Virgin Islands where they had a bunch of Grumman Widgeon flying boats to fly passangers from island to island. The planes were so old and leaky that as soon as the planes landed, they had to taxi up the ramp on to dry land to keep from sinking. It was fun to watch them take off though.
According to the local scuttlebutt, this was called "Maureen O'Hara Airlines" because she and her husband owned them.
The only reason that I asked about your B-Variant was because I have a model D aand might convert it to a Model B/C with the optional add-on kit that I have. I was curious if you had that same add-on but obviously yours is a slightly different vintage than mine is.

I chickened out!
I am going to wait to build the P51 Excalibur III next seasonand try something easier first. I thought that the Sig 1/5 scale cub would be a good one for me to try but there are none available anywhere and no kits being produced until late April due to balsa supply problems.
I have ordered the Goldberg Chipmunk as I have always liked the various chipmunk versions and have been impressed when I have seen it fly.
If anyone knows where I could find a three view of Art Scholl's fixed gear versionI would appreciate it. I still plan to try the entry level of Sportsman scale this season.
thanks

There were two. N13Y was originally N13A. It was fixed gear during the years up until about 1970. Skip Volk's N1114V was fixed gear and Art bought it after Skip was killed in his Pitts Special.
I'm putting together documentation on N1114V when it was Skip Volk's because he was a family friend and rented my parents hangar. I'll post what I find in the coming year.

Don't chicken out! Practice on what you have. My skills didn't come about quickly. The more times you try on each plane, more and more my planes usually comes out better and my skills improve. The problem I face now is I feel I want to chicken out from flying it because of all the time and $$$ I put into it. What encourages me to risk everything is I hate "Hanger Queens" unless I retire a plane because of age, or it's no longer flight worthy.
