I really like learning new things but when I do something I absolutely know better than doing, well, it just really gets me. That plug I posted last split and I know why, because I used lumber as a filler trying to use less plaster. I know wood swells when wet, I know there is water in the plaster, duhhhhh. So later yesterday I poured one with no filler at all and it has cured enough to remove. It will likely take a couple of days to fully cure so maybe next Sunday I will get to use it.

Hey Ace don't use saw dust in your Plaster mix, it will swell and deform your plug... wait am I too late again ... I'll try and keep up next time [ ducts as things are being thrown ]
Ace in the image of the plug that is split... is that a shadow, or some sort of ripple in the plaster, or in the master... it looks like some sort of deformity, it runs almost 90 degrees to the crack and about in the center... I know you poured another plug, but I'm just curious if you see that same thing I'm seeing, it could be just a optical illusion.

Robert reminds me of the cat that was going to get the rat at any costs, other words come hell or high water he's going to get his canopy, it is amazing what some will do to accomplish what others have not. I have been following this adventure for awhile now and I hope for the sake of his sanity he gets his canopy pretty soon. Go get'er Robert, I know you can do it. Smile

Upon returning to the house I find this package from Gary at Decal-it. It is a set of the stars and bars for my prop, of which he sent without my knowledge. That is typical for Gary, one hell of a guy, but also in the envelope was a sample of the Bulldog logo. Ohhh Baby, he does such sweet work, really makes me want to get to my Bulldog build.

Have you thought about tinting the canopy with a subtle hint of green... rit's dye works well... I did my cub with a brown, and got a real nice bronze tint... this time I'm either going with a green, or subtle hint of blue... windscreen will just have a hint of green to it... and the top window will be a bit darker green than the windscreen... side windows I'll leave clear.

Once I figured out how to get the plastic hot enough it went easily, just like I remember. After about thirty minutes with the plastic not getting hot enough I covered it, on the frame, with a piece of the insulation panel. Then it heated up within a couple minutes. I do need to put some more supports in the box, the vac nearly sucked the perforated top to the bottom. Well, not really, but it was definitely pulling it down.
