Good on you for holding to the high standard Robert.

It will be worth it to you and yes even us onlooker to see a real fine example of craftsmanship.

You need to elevate that just a little!

Sometimes life gets in the way of, well, life. I have been informed that next week I have to play Grand Daddy whilst my son is gone for the week. This is really going to put a dampener on the build. And then the following week I have numerous Dr. visits. The way things are looking this build's painting may get put on mothballs until next winter. I really do not want to do this paint scheme with temps above 85° and we are already seeing low 80's. But! Before I pack it up I will go and see how much one of those a/c cooled storage units would cost for a couple weeks and if they would mind.

I know the feeling ace. And it stinks. I also won't be doing much building for a while. Between work, the kids have all sorts of stuff every day, plus I'm about to put my house on the market and move. Like you, I'm so close, yet so far off from finishing my current projects, but will probably have to wait a while. Dang life.

I will second that Robert. I am going on hold myself with two birds underway.
Kick our packing into high gear, it looks like our move is next weekend. And then two weeks later my neck surgery (replace a disk and get the fragments out) with plenty of doctor's visit preceding the big slice and dice. I won't be in any kind of condition to do much for sometime after IF I HAVE a place to even work till I start getting disability checks and we can again be in our own place. Moving in with some friends temporarily.

The a/c cooled storage unit seems quite the ideal. I hope to be sitting down when you quote the price. or at least I am guessing.

Ken

But most importantly have fun with grand child

Well I haven't packed it up yet. So! I have started the final trimming of the windscreen and canopy. I thought I would show in pics how I use the laser to do this. First I place masking tape across the marks where the laser should go, in this case there is a mark at the start on each side and one center at the top of the arch. Then I set up the level so as to place the beam across the marks, a-c crossing b. Then I use fine line blue to tape against the laser, this particular laser line is on about a 1/32nd wide so it is relatively easy to get a straight curved taped line. Now I can cut it but I will wait until tomorrow for the wife keeps wanting to yak tonight.

By the way, I do have a shed that I could paint in. It is insulated, dry walled, and has a/c in two windows, but would have to be emptied and cleaned. That would take some work but is doable. We'll see when the time comes.

Your welcome, and you betcha. None of the windscreen can be mounted until some screws get here, supposedly Tuesday. Then I can mount it and the slide rail for the canopy, but it will be a couple weeks until the tools and supplies come for the canopy mount.

Very clever Robert, makes for a nice straight line! If I know you you will find a way to get that bird painted before the heat sets in...

Yeah I'd bet a six pack of soda on Robert getting her painted also.

I think he mentioned earlier that he was going to build a shop in a bit (after this bird). That sure would be nice, then we would not have to wait on Robert waiting.

Thanks guys, and your probably right. I am a patient man but only to a point, so more than likely it will get painted some how.
On another note, speaking of patience, I called McMaster-Carr about the aluminum. They are out of what I ordered that is why the wait, anyway, I changed the order from 2 6x12 to one 6x24. It will be here Wednesday! LOL. Nice people to work with.......

Maybe 3D texture. But I heard a rough surface improves lift???????

When I have solved the dust issue then I find I have not solved the pesky bug issue. I think they look for a cheap high.

The screws for the windscreen came today. I started installing them but had to stop because I could not get the nuts on behind the IP. So I have removed the aluminum panels, removed the IP and am in the process of making it removable via screws instead of the saw.
