I heard there are scale missles that in fact can be fired up when flying the rc aircraft (without any explosives , of course
)
Does anyone know something about this and if so, where to find it?
Is there any AMA restrictions about this?

By the way, I'm building a MAA-1 scale missle for my Tucano T27.
Started shaping the body from fiber glass. Will look like below

Years ago I think I remember a rocket built by a science club at some school where they used a photo sensitive cell and made a "shadow seeking" rocket. The photocell in the nose controlled an on-board control system and flew the rocket into a large kite that was being flown over the launch site. The kite made a shadow netween the sun and the rocket. As I recall- they punched holes all through the kite. A litle off subject, but I wonder if that would be considered "under control"? Probably not. But cool just the same.
I think the article was in Flying Models Magazine- early 80's maybe.

My Feedback: (102)
Here is a pic of my several year old Cruise Missle. I built it around an Estes rocket tube. It has Alieron and elevator control and throttle. The E size rocket motor is ignited off of the rx battery without any interference to the radio via micro switch. I carry it up on another plane. It works really well.

How do you land this?
How do you throttle a rocket engine[&:]?
Do you carry it with a plane and someone pilot the missile after released?

It just lands on its belly. The throttle only ignites the rocket engine. I have a friend fly me up high enough that I can barely see the cruise missle and then he drops me off . I fly it around until I am back over the runway at about 15 feet off the ground i hit the throttle the engine ignites and it takes the missle back up. the Cruise missle glides pretty well. It takes about 1 minute to get it back down to 15 ft. It looks really cool at dusk.
