Little snorkel thingy was carved from pine, glassed and flow coated. Will be used for something to grab onto when opening battery hatch.

Finished sanding and blending the Turbo inlet. Final sanded the front end of the fuse and started glassing. I used (2) layers of 3/4 oz on the top of the gun hood, nose, and bottom where saw horses would normally contact the fuse.

Belly of the Beast... Made a damn where the wing separation joint is and filled the void with Micro-Lite. More sanding... Sigh...

Have you seen Thomas HO229 build? From balsa tree to ready to glass in about a month. As we near the two year mark just saying....

RE: TA 152H Meister Scale Project Grun 4
Well Did some flying at BITW last weekend and kicked around some ideas with Todd Burley on final paint scheme. Options on Grun 4 is do the standard scheme common seen on most projects or do the scheme with the outline of the factory markings "CW CJ" as shown in the second photo. I am leaning towards the overspray of the factory markings as this is most likley how the plane operated in April of 45 and is not commonly seen in other RC projects.

Plan of attack for the JETI ESC and LIPO setup is this. Diagram shows how ESC must be wired together. I am going to have the leads end into a Deans Connector. From there run a Tam "Series" Y connector with spark arrestor (10 Gauge) to my Lipos hooked up in Parrallel for a total of a 12S 10,0000 MAH setup.

So.... Life has been a little in the way here. Time to get back to hobby time.
Had to round up some supplies. Is it just me or are things getting a little expensive?
1. Acetone for wipe down and reducer.
2. Spot putty
3. Self etching Primer for spinner
4. 30 min epoxy
5. Lacquer thinner for gun cleanup.
6. 120 and 400 wet/dry

Spent some quality time finishing up the battery hatch.
Flow coated the previously glassed hatch and sanded everything down smooth. I decided that this little pine carved snorkel we are using as a hatch grab, needs to be reinforced from the inside with 1/8 ply wood. I drilled and pinned the snorkel using a bamboo chopstick. I also coated the inside using thinned down epoxy I figure this hatch will get some abuse.

Not sure what to do with the "primed out of the mold" cowl so I dry sanded off all the shine, coated the inner cowl ring / baffle with thinned down epoxy. The inner lip of the cowl needed a little spot putty work to fill up a few pin holes. Everything was final sanded followed by a good wipe down with acetone.

The aluminum spinner cone was scoured with 120 grit sandpaper and wiped down with acetone followed by a light coat of self etching primer.

I'm really glad I was patient and waited to paint until today...
(23) parts fully semi-unprofessionally painted both sides with (2) part acrylic urethane primer.

I didn't want to hear Burley gripe... So I hit whatever I could find with spot glazing putty and let the primer gas out 48 hours.
