PanTiger what to do?

PanTiger what to do?
Good day ,
Well I have a Pantiger that I aquired,( dont ask) and I am wondering what to do with it ?? I dont like the look of it.
( A PanTiger is a Matto early Panther with a Tiger front end If some one can post A pic of one ,that would be good )
Sould I just give it a good paint job and use it?
Find a Tiger 1 upper hull and turret to replace the Pantiger one ?
Make it in to a SturmTiger using the existing hull ?
Turn it in to a Berge Panther?
Use it to make a Famo, prime mover ,useing the lower hull and drive?
Put it away and pretend it never happened?
Im working on my Mat KT and once im finished it I will need to address the PanTiger. Im leaning tword the SturmTiger idea.
Ideas? input? Condolences ?

I vote for the SturmTiger.
Mine was non S&S so when I fried the curcit board I gutted all the useful stuff out of it as spares for my Tiger. Now my pantiger holds smoke bombs or is a target for the airsoft tanks.

Why not just make it a knock around tank for the kids to play with? Your kids, neighborhood kids, anyone's kid.
We're in the process of turning one of ours into a static model. Someone had a video of one on an RC Battlefield with a thrown track and it billowing smoke, that's a most interesting use for one.

Hiya Capt,
You could turn it into a reasonable lookingPanther.........I had a go at this.........it was fun to do and I did everything to it except reduce the tank width.........not for the faint - hearted though.
Cheers

I used mine in a different way, as I posted some photos already...
but still...I used the left upper part of the body, had to redo it,and turret. Gun is not from PanTiger...

I like what you did there Hal. The Pantiger is so far off being a Panther, it makes sense to build a "what if" tank out of it. That is a great looking tank, and looks like a possibility if the war had gone on.

Some nice looking PanTigers here.
Before we had a good looking and cost effective Panther people had to make due with what we had and some great results were achieved.
I now have a newer HL Panther and am happy with the look and I dont need another Panther . So what to do with it ..Humm..
This PanTiger is just odd to me, vary toyish a good project bace . Its a runner and I dont want to turn it in to battle feild wreck .
I think Im leaning toward getting a tiger upper hull and do a SturmTiger. I dont have one of thoses...
Or a what if tank?? SturmPanther?? ????

RE: PanTiger what to do?
Hi Gerula,
Basically I cut the lower and upper hull and lengthened them using plasticard and modelling filler. I lengthened the barrel using plastic tube, cut out and added the rear door in the turret, opened up the two front hatches and moved the switches to there, raised the gearboxes up to the proper position, corrected the glacis plate and added metal tracks and sprockets with a paint job.
This was my first attempt at tank scratch/modifying so Iwas quite pleased with how it turned out.
More pickies below.
Cheers

Thanks for the pics, I'm thinking of doing somehting similar with a Panther I just bought (was an offer I couldn't refuse, since it included a ton of spare electronics, smoke units, tracks and motors - basically I was able to convert the Panther and a Tiger to S&S and still have a lot of spares left)
What is plasticard and how you use it? Or you mean the plastic from which credit cards are made? How do you join it with the hull, so it would have resistance?

RE: PanTiger what to do?
Hi Gerula,
Plasticard is available in the UK from model shops in sheets of varying thicknesses and colours. The material is styrene and can be cut and formed as you wish. I use medium and thick cyanoacrylate (superglue) and epoxy resin to stick parts together. If you search on the forum, you will see many people have done this pantiger conversion and that will give you more information. Good luck with it.

RE: PanTiger what to do?
Hmm.
I have some experience with using CA (both with and without activator) on plastic parts and the result isn't exactly famous for resistance under stress (as in a tank hull with two motors going in opposite directions). Un the other hand, I think that some reinforcement with plastic sheets overlaping the joints on the inside might do the trick.
Thank you for the hints.

Yep..........overlap the joints and I promise you they will be very strong............I have no problems at all and I run my tanks quite hard.................
