RE: Heng Long Panther II Tank Destroyer
Excuse my ignorance on the subject. Was their a prototype for this, or is this a fantasy tank????. THe only knock I will give Heng Long is if they wasted their time giving us a fantasy tank when they coud have used that chassis for a Berge Panther, or a Stug IV with the PZIV chassis.

I have seen drawings, but no prototype that I have seen. More then likely a fantasy of someone in the research and development dept. of HL!!!! Stug IV G or a BergaPanther or Even a release of a JagdTiger we could all afford instead of the starting bids of $200-$298 for the Mato one that was not out for very long. Ok it must be the custom paint jobs that push the price up so high on E*ay right? OMG I would rather paint it myself and save the money for some upgrades!!!!

People been knocking Tamiya because they haven't made any new tanks lately. Well, at least they don't make up fictional tanks for some extra sales.

You sound like another tamiya owner that has fallen victum to the feared pantiger.........I saw one on the danville vids, I just assumed it is what happens when someone is board and there is a jagpanthersitting on a bench.....guess hl designers are adding to the line after a visit to thepoppy fields......

I like how it says "this was a super tank and would have been unbeatable in any tank battle".
LOL!!! And it was also said that the Titanic was unsinkable too.

This is an interesting release. Paper panzer or not, what I find interesting is that it just showed up outta nowhere. I remember not too long ago when the PIII was coming out how we all knew about it, preordered, then the countdown for dlvy. It was exciting. Now it is almost hard to figure out what's coming out, by whom, and how long it will be available for.

This is rather crap and has already been suggested Heng Long have been smoking far too much hemp and now believe their own bull ****
Jagdpanther II was only ever a concept tank it never reached drawing board, all that has happened with this is they have cut the fighting compartment from the front glued it on the back and then glued the engine deck on the front, they haven’t even bothered to give it steel wheels and remove 1 wheel from each side, yes it’s another pantiger they would have been better making a Cromwell, rather poor show indeed.

Who said this was a HL release? Just because it's on a HL chassis doesn't mean it's HL's.

call me crazy but I kinda dig it lol(even if it is fictional)....at least it's something different...not the 10th re-incarnation of the King Tiger...Blah![:'(] I think it's a much better showing then Tamiyas "warmed-over" BS releases as of late..

I like those "fictional" paper panzers. Like the E-100 Jagdpanzer/Jagdpanther ... whatever the heck it's called.
James ran one of these at Danville but had the 120MM gun and mantlet installed instead.

I see Awesome Hobbies is in Australia, I wonder if this is something that might end up here in the states(I want one)? This would fit in great with my trend of "what-if" tanks..best part is you can paint and detail it anyway you want without having to worry about rivet-counting....but still a plausible concept given the Germans situation and history of trying differentthings with existing tank technology at the time..
just emailed Phil at rctankwars, maybe he'll be able to find out more details about these things for us.....I will definately be getting one.

RE: Heng Long Panther II Tank Destroyer
OK, so my hunch was right and this is a fantasy tank. I am sorry guys, but this almost makes me mad. I know it looks kind of cool, and it is different, but I just don't get it. When so many guys are starving to see something that had a battle history modeled, I just don't understand why HL would waste resources on a Project like this.(if it is in Fact HL) Maybe it is some third party that contracted this . Do you get a sack to carry it around in.
I got to disagree with you Dirtybird. I'll take a rehashed slightly improved model of an existing tank over a paper panzer anyday. What next, Space Nazi's

Maybe this is a custom conversion that Awesome Hobbies is doing. I think I read on the ebay add that he only had a few and won't for a while because they take so long to build. Jagd with a rearranged upper hull. I still think it odd that HL would be distributing a new model without even a peep getting out.
