To answer your edited question , no need of any modification to the tracks or sprockets, they just fitted naturally.

Thank You very much for reply - Yes in the begining I asked, but noticed that You have already wrote that they "fit perfectly". So no additional question was needed .

I'm going to try the asiatam metal kv-1 tracks as some is-2 used these.

However a big warning, don't use metal tracks till you have reinforced the front end, mine has started to buckle just using plastic tracks after a couple of days running on grass.

Tamiya JS-2 Builds: I purpose my Tamiya builds as IR fighters and for that use I like to usually run plastic kit tracks when possible. I use the Tamiya KV-1 plastic kit tracks on the red star JS-2 and they run great using the JS-2 drive sprockets, no issues. Tip: For the IR red star JS-2 I left the split hatch off and saved those delicate parts for later shelf queen status.

The hull fronts do use a simple home made aluminium brace and a Sherman metal elevation arm from ETO Armor, the only modifications to this otherwise exceptional, well running model. The other two JS builds run the JS-2 kit tracks and are similar IR builds.

Tamiya KV-1 Builds: The two KV-1 builds required custom one off modifications to become superior IR runners as the stock kit hull build up is a dismal runner.

The first KV-1 without markings runs Impact metal tracks and both KV-1 hulls are Daryl Turner Designed metal braced where it counts with his one off custom spring return idler systems; ETO Armor Black motors; Impact 8T pinion gears and ETO Armor gear reduction units for scale speed.
