Default Hetzer build

Here are some photo's of the current state of my Hetzer build. I am still waiting on out of country suppliers for some parts, but I am also in negotiations with a machine shop for sprockets and idlers for the metal track from Asiatam. I will post more as I get more parts in. Right now everything is working with the Clark TK22 board and Spectrum 9 radio. I have used HL steel low profile boxes with Promax 400 motors. Gun elevates & depresses with a servo, gun has 15% slew using a servo, and servo recoil. The Notek light works, as does the convoy light. It is set up for IR battling.

Now that's one heck of a tight fit. You did a great job cramming that much AND a decent speaker in there. Did you have to break scale anywhere?

What type of roadwheel will it need?

I did have to break scale in the shape of the lower hull and made the sides vertical instead of tapered. Nothing would fit if they were tapered. I will be using Tiger 1 road wheels with a cast "hubcap" to look like the 38t wheels. With the Tiger wheels I get rubber tires instead of plastic. Still working on the suspension system.

Steve, are you coming to Danville next week? Probably the last battle day as we know it!

Thanks guys for all the positive comments. I am working on parts of the suspension, but the hold up is some off shore vendors parts. I am trying a workaround, but it does require a bit more scratch building than I originally anticipated. Oh well, stuff happens.

Well, I got frustrated on another project so I started painting. This one is for someone else, but mine will be quite similar to it. Still waiting on the sprockets to finish the suspension.

Here are the four amigo's together. Each is at a different stage in painting and construction, and none of it is finished yet.

Yours is the one on the far right with most of the paint finished. Mine is next to it.

Hi Herman,
Your Hetzer project is looking great, I'm still plugging away on my current airplane project, I have to finish that before I jump into the tank project. Hopefully Brenda and I will see you again this September at Danville if your event is still held there.

Keep up the good work, Larry
