I have never had an issue with Mato. However they are a large distributor, and issues can creep in when you are dealing on such a large volume and if you have a tank that arrives damaged. The low cost and small profit margin combined with the size and nature of these, can make resolution to a problem interesting. In most cases Mato will offer the replacement part , and suggest you repair it. It is the most cost effective approach. In all honesty when you own a tank at some time you are going to have to learn how to repair stuff that gets broken, and I doubt there are any of us who have been on this forum for any length of time that haven't had these thing in pieces. So the resolution offer with a new part to replace the broken one is fine in my expectations of service. Some people are not happy with this response though and there has been more then one story of someone being unhappy with Mato, when Mato has shied away from a complete replacement However this very reason is why you can still buy Heng Long tanks for less then $130. I don't want to lose that option, so I am prepared to fix a few things when I have to.

Yeah, I imagine manufacturers are finding it hard to manage the expectations of newcomers into RC tanking, who have spent hundreds of dollars for a tank featuring marketing-speak terms like "professional" or "full option", only to discover problems right out the box, or after minutes of running. Erik is doing a commendable job of taking care of guys who run into problems, particularly those who are on here (and likewise he gets glowing reviews for his efforts), but it isn't really scalable if Taigen/Imex starts selling tanks by the thousands.
I hate to say this, but any tank, no matter the cost, will meet with some mechanical or electronic issue at some point of its use. When you consider the multiple gearboxes (up to five), electronics, and mass of wires to link everything together, provide lights, sound, and/or smoke, something is bound to happen sooner rather than later. If you can't see yourself opening up and fixing something, and would rather return it for someone else to fix (and shipping attracts its own risk of damage), then your tank would just be a shelf display model (but a very impressive one at that).
